I've been getting spammed by this 'casino' in the past few days. The mails are hilarious, like this:

What's up,
You want to try force?
To test your good luck and to come out the winner. You have mor than 18 years and you are not afraid risk?
We pay to our players since 2006... Always, this point of honour...
Your brains against our money - you are ready to game ?

But at the bottom of the mail it says You have received this email because you are a registered CasinoRewards member. :what:

I never sign up at casinos or affiliates who send spam, especially if it's written like this one, but I was like hmmmm...let's see who this is...First off, they have nothing to do with Casino Rewards (surprise) and the website xx.royalpalace-casino.com (or xx.eurovip-play.com or a billion others) is actually just a fake skin for a download of a casino called Euro King casino which uses SkillOnNet software. lol partner to a casino called 'Paris Vegas'

Anyhow just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is getting these mails too - before you decide you want to try force.

Lol, I almost need a translator to understand the content of that email.

You would think to some extent that these wannabe scammers would make more of an effort to improve their command of the English language. If you're going to try and rip somebody off, at least make it semi believable

Having said that, I understand that English isn't everyones first language. In other words, I can see how the email may appear legit to some members.

Thanks for the warning chayton

That should be reported to Trading Standards, there are no fruit machines on their site, so statements like "you want to try force" are highly misleading. :D

They are also pretending to be a skin of a completely unrelated group.

Oh and one more thing - probably nothing to do with this, but I found it quite interesting anyhow. When I was googling this casino name I came up with an old (2011) entry on Web of Trust. Here's the link to the page if anyone is interested: xxhttps://www.mywot.com/en/forum/9158-royal-palace-casino

A casino named Royal Palace had their own downloadable casino client but it was loaded with viruses including Trojan-Banker.Win32.Banker, PSW.Banker5.BSMK and Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT You can look them up to see what they did, but these were some extremely dangerous viruses for people who use their credit cards or do any banking or financial transactions online.

This person/group had a whole pile of domains (all with .ru extensions) that were kinda close to actual real casino names. Here are a few I noticed:

jokervegascasino.ru
party-casino-fortune.ru
win-world-casino.ru
casinovegasjoker.ru
gamecrystalpalace.ru

Now imagine how this might have worked. Some hacker popped up a couple hundred new casino site skins and offered some big fat freebie or a huge bonus with a low playthrough and no max cashout. They send out a zillion spam mails and may have even set up a fake review site or a dozen to help drive traffic. The punters would stream in like ants to a picnic.

The 'casino' install file had this payload of viruses like the ones above, and I'm sure the download page said something like "You have to temporarily turn off your antivirus..."

So maybe half of the punters that showed up for the bonus bait would have up-to-date antivirus or didn't want to risk turning it off. But the rest would download and install the file, they might get a few errors, but then - bummer the casino doesn't work (because it's NOT REAL HELLO!) and they uninstall.

But those lovely viruses have already burrowed their way into the computer. The punter, upset at the gambling time they wasted on this **** casino that didn't even WORK, immediately boots up another casino. And hmmm what's this, suddenly I have a new banking security window. Let me just pop in my account number and password. Oh and now I have to enter my credit card info...

See how bad that could get? That's some scary shit right there. :eek2:

This is the way my mind works. lol...now you know why I'm so bloody paranoid. :)

Yeah it can be a freaky world out there on the world wide web... :)
But that is why I would not even bother looking at "casino's" like that,I think for a slightly advanced internet and PC user these fake websites and casino's are easily spotted.
But there are for sure millions out there who would walk straight into their traps and get busted and their credit cards emptied and stuff by those vile crooks, mainly eastern European organized cyber crime...

Besides a good AV program I can strongly recommend Malware bytes too,a great program that will contribute in security of your home PC and/or laptop.

Slightly advanced yes...but I bet a ton of people get suckered. There was an article I found a few years ago about how clueless people are online. There was this tech/internet company who wrote an article about using facebook to log in to AOL or something like that. They had a comment section where you had to log in to post a comment, and you could just log in with your facebook ID.

Suddenly they were inundated with comments like "I don't like this new Facebook" and "Where are all my pictures, change it back!" and people were swearing and being rude and threatening and just plain weird.

After several days and pages of this the people from the website realized that these people were googling 'facebook login' and the article was coming at the top in the search results. The people would click on the link and not notice the url OR the big fat bright red header with the logo that said Read Write Web and scroll down to the end of the article where they'd finally see the familiar 'log in with Facebook' button and then they'd log in thinking they were on Facebook and start commenting and complaining about how much they disliked the 'new' Facebook. It was hilarious - and it went on for MONTHS.

Unfortunately all the comments from the original story are gone and it looks like spammers have taken over everything on that site, but I did find an archived version (if you want to see it xxhttp://archive.today/n7DwQ ) with at least the first page of comments, and no kidding, there were thousands.
