Hey gang. I made two deposits at Videoslots Friday. Played alot of NetEnt, which is why I probably busted out so quick lol. I made another deposit on Saturday and played alot of MG. I felt like a little DOA action so I made one last deposit (at least until Jackpot Capital pays me Tuesday), and went to play. All of a sudden there a message that it's a restricted game in Canada. Is anyone else having this problem? I got the 10 free spins on Starburst this morning (which I had no problems loading into)and went to play my winnings on DOA but it's still saying restricted. Thanks for any info. Very frustrating since I would've played my last deposit elsewhere had I known. But how could I know since it was fine earlier in the day. CHEERS

Hello Guys,

Good morning first of all. :)

Just noticed this thread here regarding the NetEnt games. Unfortunately they are now restricted from the following countries: Denmark / Italy / Belgium / Gibraltar / Alderney / Isle of Man / Spain / France / US Virgin Islands / United States of America / Canada / North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) / Iran.

On another note - the no deposit free spins upon registration are now available for new players registering from Australia, Austria, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Moreover, the €10 Free Cash upon first deposit is valid for new players from Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Thanks a lot! & as always please do let me know should you have any further questions as I'll gladly help out.

Kind Regards,
Lucas

what i mean is.....

20+ deposits at guts now and no wins anymore, 40+ deposits at casinoluck and nothing! holy shit is it just me or did they shut all games off for Canadian for the last 4 months?

I like how your restricted list includes 2 countries where NetEnt is usually available but forgot to explain why they are restricted at your casino.

"Yeah, sorry...we can't let people from North Korea, Iran or Canada play..."

Talk about hitting the bottom of the barrel. Should I move to Nigeria to upgrade my life style?

Currently on the Isle of Man.

Logged into VideoSlots & when selecting any NetEnt games, I got the mesage "This game is not allowed in your country".

Then tried a few other sites (not sure if appropriate to name them, but they are 'big' brands who are licensed in either Malta or Gibraltar), and can confirm that NetEnt games (including both branded (e.g. Aliens and Scarface), and non-branded (e.g. DOA and Starburst)) are available.

Guessing this restriction is specific to VideoSlots only.

As well as the Isle of Man & Canada, I can also confirm that NetEnt games are usually also available when I'm in Gibraltar. I'm not due back there for a couple of weeks, so perhaps someone else could confirm if they're still available. Or perhaps better still...

Lucas: Can you please confirm your rationale for implementing this move.

So, you restrict the games from being played by players in the Isle of Man and Gibraltar, even though many online casinos use these countries to gain licenses to operate from them?

Lucas, could you clarify how and why this decision has been made, because I'm struggling to understand why it's been done.

Hi All,

NetEnt has only recently (last week) added these new terms to their partner’s contracts. The brands must be licensed in the respective jurisdictions in order to be able to allow players to use the NetEnt software within the markets in question.

Certainly those brands who are already licensed there, do not get effected by this, although the brands who are not licensed within these regulated markets are risking having their agreements revoked should they not apply this update.

Similarly this would have the same situation once the UK is regulated.
(P.S. – VideoSlots.com is applying for the UK license) – (So we will still be in the UK market).

We were prepared for such an adjustment, therefore we have complied with the new terms very quickly where as we can understand that other casinos may take a little longer to do so.

Hope that helps in understanding NetEnt’s recent update.

Thanks again, and let me know should you have any further questions, I’m here to assist.

Kind Regards,
Lucas

Looks like I will soon be opening an account there. Over the weekend I have learned (not from the casinos themselves of course), that all but one Vegas partner lounge casino will be booting UK players in 3 days, and that Fortune Lounge will be booting UK players completely as early as next month (I have to assume that all Digimedia casinos will follow suit, so a huge chunk of download MGS is disappearing for UK players).

Positive confirmation of intent to stay in the UK market from casino reps is very helpful as this summer is likely to see some massive changes for me since I have always tended to play download casinos, and almost all Microgaming.

This latest move by NetEnt is part of the reason I think the multi provider platforms have such a problem. They cannot provide a unified casino experience because each of the many game providers expects their own, often illogical, country restrictions to apply at the game level on top of casino level operator country restrictions. Download casinos are either all or nothing. An example here is that Canadian players at Videoslots are seeing NetEnt games advertised as being part of the package, but when they have parted with their money they find they can't actually play them. Worse, the rules just keep on changing, and always to the detriment of the player.

The changes in regulation means that for players things are going to get worse because the practice of shutting various countries out of games available to other members of the same casino will spread. This will negate the advantage that the multi provider platforms have over the sole provider casinos as players from an increasing number of countries will find that their so called multi provider platform excludes them from playing an increasing number of the games on offer.

now i feel better for living in my hole, online gambling not being regulated at all and is tax free. this is the only moment i like our lazy politicians, escaping this shitstorm of restrictions.

We are taking care of the issue regarding players in Canada. They will have an own site under /CA which will only show games they can play. For the rest of the countries that are blocked, we are planning to arrange this as well. (The complication is that we need the site in the correct language), however having said that, we are working on this as well.

We'll keep you posted as soon as www(.)videoslots(.)com/ca is live.

Kind Regards,
Lucas

Given Digimedia's relentless pursuit in buying up MG download casino's I can't help but feel a trick is being missed here. Surely this would now be the perfect opportunity to get a UK license and start up a UK only casino? What's another casino on the portfolio when you have so many others?

As far as I know we can play all NetEnt games except South Park, Aliens and Creature from the Black Lagoon.

For another few days, yes. I imagine that Netent has a deadline for when these new restrictions which Lucas described need to be in place :(¨

In Netent's latest quarterly report released last week they mentioned that they will make a serious effort to get into the North American/US market, I imagine these restrictions have something to do with that

will this apply to 32red?

That's a possibility. Now that it seems that they want a part of the land casino market, they might take the WMS route by restricting their online games.

Oh well...

The brands must be licensed in the respective jurisdictions in order to be able to allow players to use the NetEnt software within the markets in question.

Let's see if I'm understanding this correctly.

The brands
The casinos

must be licensed in the respective jurisdictions
must be licensed in the countries listed earlier

in order to be able to allow players to use the NetEnt software within the markets
in order to let the citizens of these countries play NetEnt games.

Byebye NetEnt then!

Just thought I'd put an update here to say that the post below I made on 14th July is still valid & as far as I can tell, no other sites have been impacted by the reported contracts change by Net Ent.

Currently on the Isle of Man.

Lucas - any update from your side? (I can understand the rationale for most of the countries given, but am struggling to understand the stated stance regarding Alderney, Gibraltar, Isle of Man and Canada).

Balthazar - are you still able to play NetEnt games from where you are?

Hi funnymunny,

Good afternoon.

As stated previously in my post:

The brands must be licensed in the respective jurisdictions in order to be able to allow players to use the NetEnt software within the markets in question.
Certainly those brands who are already licensed there, do not get effected by this, although the brands who are not licensed within these regulated markets are risking having their agreements revoked should they not apply this update.

There is no deadline for the operators to comply with these restrictions. Though who offers NetEnt and doesn't not comply with these regulations which were added from NetEnt themselves, then they will never be able to enter these markets with NetEnt later on. (given that they are yet to be licensed in the countries in question of course.)

Hope that helps in understanding better.

Thanks again, and let me know should you have any further questions, I’m here to assist.

Kind Regards,
Lucas
