This is a precautionary story about Grand Parker casino.

I am shocked at this casino. I was a new customer there and got an introductory $20 free chip. I played on it and won the maximum cashout of $100 (woot!). Then the problems started

Firstly, they took forever to respond to my documents. Finally they admitted they had them but wouldn't approve them since I didn't make a deposit. The problem was that I had a cashable balance in my account and could not cashout as the cashier wont allow you without approved docs. So it is a no-win cycle. Finally, I agreed to make a deposit and then immediately cashout after they approved the docs. They did approve the docs a week later and I cashed out. The waiting time is 2 weeks.

Well, just before the 2 week period was up I got an email offer to reverse my cashout and get double the amount in a cashable bonus with no maximum amount to win. I logged into the casino and saw that my withdrawal had been reversed by the casino. Firstly, I asked about the bonus they offered. Then they said it was a mistake and they could only give me 1/3 of the original offer. I declined and said just cash me out. I also told them that I didn't want to wait for 2 more weeks because they reversed my withdrawal without my consent. The live chat support agreed and told me it would get processed normally after trying to talk me into the bonus that was lowered on me at the last second.

THEN the big bomb dropped. I got ANOTHER email stating that my withdrawal was NOT approved because I was randomly selected for a "security check". And that this check could take up to 60 business days. WHAT? Wait, it gets worse. They don't count Friday as a business day. So there are only 4 business days a week unless there is a holiday. When there is a holiday the day before and/or after often doesn't count as a business day either!! In other words, this "random security check" will take over 4 months to complete. I have been waiting on this cashout for 2 months already.

Have they absolutely no shame at all?

You've been here a year, and not realized how bad Grand Parker are? Just type them in to the forum search and read and weep. You can only withdraw 500$ per fortnight. Bonus banning and closing accounts etc. Good luck with them.

What's ridiculous about this is that it was only a $100 cashout - plus whatever you deposited. I guess you should maybe be thankful that you aren't waiting for a large withdrawal from them.

I know I should not play there either, they just denied a withdraw for me, waiting to hear from finance why, for those that say don't play here, your right

Yeah, it'll take them a further 180 days to review the findings. Then 270 further days to come to a conclusion based on those findings and then 360 days further to inform you of the inevitable result and closure of the account.

Strange how they don't review losing accounts, eh?

They are playing games. No way would a legitimate business submit players to an onerous 60 day+ wait purely on the basis of random selection. More likely they are miffed that the bait & switch bonus offer didn't work, and they were so convinced it would that they reversed your withdrawal in anticipation that you would fall for it.

Maybe send them an email along the lines "Thank goodness I didn't accept that offer, I was on the verge of changing my mind to accepting your offer when I received your latest email regarding the security check. I have now decided to await the outcome before making any further deposits at the casino. I shall be playing elsewhere in the mean time."

Then uninstall the casino and make a note to check back at the end of every month on progress by sending them an email enquiring politely about progress.

See who can keep it up for longest. Them by making you cave and play away your balance, or you by sitting tight on that $100 whilst dropping 10x the amount at their competitors (making damn sure they are not part of the same group of rogues).

If they cave and pay you the $100, tell them "thanks, but no thanks" and carry on playing elsewhere.

UPDATE

Oddly, after I sent an email asking them about this my "review" was finished and I was paid. So very, very, very odd. Perhaps the "up to 60" days thing means that if they find something then it cooooould take that long but really is only going to take a day or two? This is very bizarre I must admit.

The walls have ears!

So, have you arranged your next deposit with them? :D

Best not to rationalize why they paid this time.

Maybe they found out this tactic was starting to get some exposure on the forum, so they caved and paid when you started asking questions, after all it's only $100 to them, but having a thread about you being "randomly selected" for a 60 day wait sitting around for a couple of months was too risky.

It also appears that you are not the only player to have been subjected to this "review" procedure, so it suggests they are "fire fighting" a far bigger problem.

It could also be that they are squeezing every last penny they can from UK players before they cut & run just ahead of the new regulations. If so, they would have no incentive to treat them as "valued customers" because they would not be trying to win long term loyalty, instead getting every penny they can out of them in the next few months.

New regulation?

Hey there,

Please can I trouble you to expand on:

'new regulations'

in your recent reply?

I am from the UK, and always feel like I have to play cat and mouse with some casinos. Would be nice to know in advance if I can anticipate future problems!

Thanks,

MB

So far, two online casinos have ditched their UK player base citing these new regulations as the cause. This is the first effect UK players are seeing, and will probably be the main effect they see through till December. After then, those that carry on accepting UK players must also hold a separate UK license and pay tax on UK derived profits. Additionally, UK law will govern the contract they have with players, rather than the laws of their offshore jurisdiction.

There is a danger that the rogues will ignore the laws, but have greater prominence if too many legitimate offshore operators pull out rather than sign up to the new UK rules. The UKGC will have a facility whereby players can independently verify that any site that claims to hold the UK licence really does. Rogues may misuse the UKGC logo, but clicking on it will show it to be a fake under the checking system.

The need to pay a larger tax on UK profits may affect the generosity of the promotions on offer to UK players. Terms and conditions are also likely to be altered such that they are more in line with UK laws, and thus create less risk that they end up getting ruled as "unenforceable" or "unfair" under UK law.

Bro, golden rule - ALWAYS check out any casino before playing there. All you have to do is Google [casino name] and add words [rogue] or [problems]. If they are rogue, it WILL come up. Good luck to you but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Reputable is a matter of opinion.
However, how on Earth can they say "legally operated" when they accept players from the USA...?

It is not illegal for US citizens to gamble online (except in certain states), it is illegal for the banks to handle transactions for online casinos.

Finance Department,
I do not understand this post. How can the words 'reputable' and GrandParker appear in the same sentence:what:

"reputable and legally operated" = "we don't actually have a gaming licence from any jurisdiction, but our lawyers have found us a jurisdiction to operate from where we don't need one".

"reputable" casinos also don't subject players to a lengthy 60 day+ account review purely at random. The "reputable" casinos have automated procedures to detect which accounts look like they are in need of additional scrutiny, which in most cases can be dealt with by requesting documents right away, rather than waiting for certain criteria to be reached such as after so many Dollars in deposits or withdrawals.

Disreputable casinos however, would use such a vague and all encompassing rule as a stalling tactic that can buy them 60 days or more in times of financial stress, with the added benefit that much of the potential liability will be pissed back by players who reverse, or forgotten about over time by the patient.

Maybe they have cash flow problems? They were always bad, but they paid after this long pending period.
Now it looks like that they have gone even more rogue.

Few months back they banned few countries without prior notice, confiscating balances in the process and even not returning deposits.

One question that no casino has EVER been able to answer to me is that when they state that they do this for their and my security.. and that it is for my own good and to protect me as well as them.

My question is always "how exactly is this protecting me?"... "and from WHAT?" They can NEVER answer that. It is the most irritating thing that casinos say. That canned response is so ludicrous. I always say "Sooooo... you want to protect me from collecting my money?".... "buuuuut you didn't want to protect me from depositing my money?"

That is usually when they say "can I help you with anything else sir?" but they cant answer the question. So stupid.
