Hi,

I´m a long time silent member on this forum, time to make my first post I suppose :)

Now obviously the below is my own fault as I did not read the complete terms and conditions, but see it more as a warning on how the operations are at Tropica (wierd thing is I´ve only read good things lately about them on the forum) and I would love to hear if you guys think the promotion in question is anything other than a scam.

In short, I created an acccount and saw the bonus offer of 10 000% on a deposit of atleast 25€ (2500€ bonus) read through the terms and conditions sloppy and saw 75x turnover and 0.25x maximum withdrawal (625€) and figured it sounds impossible but gonna give it a go (was no value even at this point as the bonus amount would be deducted upon withdrawal)

Anyway, started off betting 10€ to increase it to 25€ and then go with 50€ bets as I had reached well over 15K just to meet the wagering requirements. Once done im told my withdrawal as been rejected and winnings + deposit has been confisticated.

The reason they mentioned is that I bet more than the allowed per spin (max bet is 10% of the deposit made) of 2.50€

So here is the math for the promotion:
1. deposit plus bonus = 2525 needs to be wagered 75 times = 189375
2. 10% of the deposit is 2.50, meaning I would need to spin 189375/2.50 = 75750 times
3. Now imagine that each spin takes approx 2 seconds to complete. so 30 spins per minute.
4. 75750/30= 2525 minutes would it take.
5 2525/60 = 42 HOURS OF PLAY WOULD BE REQUIRED! (with a cap win amount of 625€ on 25€ deposit)

Is this anything other than a complete bonus scam?

Tropica has stated in the past that these bonuses are meant to give more play time to casual players who requested it. It's not a scam, but probably not very attractive to the more seasoned players.

PS: You waited 7 years to make your first post???

You did the math and knew exactly the max allowed per spin so by definition its not a scam. Its just that the wagering is near impossible to meet without busting and even if you did not bust the fact that the bonus is non-withdrawable renders it highly probable that your $25 is well and truly lost. If I am not mistaken the comps are likely to be earned at a much reduced rate too. IMO you should be kicking yourself instead of stating its a scam.

Partly true, thats the reason I said it was my own fault (I missed to read that the maximum bet was 10% of the bet when I started) the maths was done afterwards.

Thats not my concern though, I get that the fault is on my end and the results are thereafter. Money is lost and gone.

The problem I have with it is that such offers which are a complete rip off regardless on how you turn and twist it even exists. Any bonus which would require 42 hours of non stop gaming to reach wagering requirement should be considered unfair.

Again, no one forced me to use it and I did my own mistake by not reading it carefully.

Now I see that Tropica decided to pay out my initial stake atleast. I thank them for that.

Hi,

Wow, that is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. How did anyone say anything good about you at casinomeister is beyond me.

Lets do some fun math with your promotion, just so that you are aware of how retarded the requirements are:

1. deposit plus bonus = 2525 needs to be wagered 75 times = 189375
2. 10% of the deposit is 2.50, meaning I would need to spin 189375/2.50 = 75750 times
3. Now imagine that each spin takes approx 2 seconds to complete. so 30 spins per minute.
4. 75750/30= 2525 minutes would it take.
5 2525/60 = 42 HOURS OF PLAY WOULD BE REQUIRED!

and this for a limited win of only 650€, I will find it interesting to see what the people at casinomeister´s forum says about this. Surely they will agree that that I was ripped off.

Just another example of a crooked casino i guess.

Hi *****,

You are most welcome to post on Casinomeister. As a member there you should be aware of the following:

1. Always read the terms before agreeing to it. I.e. if this offer was "retarded", why did you take it?
2. Why do other members write favourable reviews about us? Try and find a legitimate complaint about us.
3. We have several offers available and you could have chosen any one of them.

I am sorry you feel we did anything untoward, however a breach of terms is simply that.

We will reply with our version of events on Casinomeister.

All the best,
Remy

Hi,

Since obviously I made a mistake, which I in no way benefited in what so ever as my winnings were not paid out.

However, I feel that since I didnt lose my money I deposited it would seem fair that the initial deposit can be refunded and the winnings void.

Do you not agree?

Hi,

We cannot concur as you agreed to the terms. I.e. you accepted that all winnings and deposit (if any) would be nullified when breaching our terms.

Do you agree?

Remy

I am terribly sorry we could not roll out the red carpet for you after YOU breached our terms.

It never ceases to amaze me how people like you think you can break the rules and then threaten the casinos with forum posts and other nasty comments.

Seriously, why do you think it's ok to do that? I will be posting all correspondence on your Meister post so that readers can see what kind of person you are.

I have refunded the deposit as we don't want money from folks like this. I have also asked Rival to bonus ban him globally as my sentiment is that this is a seasoned player with a lot of experience who knew what he was doing or at least, meant to be doing and he should not be playing with bonuses.

We have 10 offers running every day across the 2 casinos and the OP could have chosen anyone of them.

This offer is for those who wish to play a long time with a small deposit. It is catering for the entertainment factor. That said, we average 70 cashouts a month on this promo, so it's not unreasonable either.

Apologies for the long post, however it is necessary in this instance.

All the best,
Dieter

Thank you for the post Dieter.

Again, I would love to hear what the people in this forum has to say about bonus offerings such as this, not only by your casino, but in general.

Im pretty sure that this is the place to discuss such things.

What I do feel is a bit sad however, is that I got a big NONO on return of funds until I posted anything on casinomeisters forum. Why would you reward players for doing such a thing if you clearly didnt think it was the right thing to do in the first place?

Should you not have asked the OP if it was Ok to publish his emails?, just a question really as I wouldnt like to think my emails could be published like this?

First of all. I only became aware of the issue when you posted here. I decided to refund you as we really don't want your money. My team were 100% fair and correct in their responses to you.
Secondly: Returning your deposit is not a reward. I personally don't think it's the right thing to do, but as stated - we would prefer not to have any dealings with you.

Regards,
Dieter

1. Thread title should be changed.
2. Casino is right here, if you read terms of bonus, did not like it, WHY YOU EVER TAKE THIS BONUS? Where is your logic?
Edit: wow, i am senior member, hell yeah baby!

Should you not have asked the OP if it was Ok to publish his emails?, just a question really as I wouldnt like to think my emails could be published like this?

The OP was advised via email that we would respond with our version of events here on Casinomeister if he chose to post here. He accepted this when he posted. It's fair considering the OP is here to discredit us and in our defense, we need to provide our version of the truth so that you can decide for yourself.

I think that when making a matter public, then all parties should be able to present the facts in order for everyone to form their own opinion. The alternative of course is a PAB, which the OP could have used or he could have PM'd me first.

We will always advise that we will share the information on the forum and we will never post sensitive data.

Dieter

1. Dont know if I am able to change the title even though I started the thread, if I am let me know otherwise i guess a Mod will do it.
2. Maybe I was a bit unclear previously, I did a mistake by not seeing that the maximum bet was 10% of the deposit. If i had, I would obviously not be playing my money in a situation were I had no possibility to win. I took the bonus and thought I followed the rules there was. Afterwards I realized that that was not the case and also said that it was my fault.

Again, this thread was not about my situation (my sitation ended with me confirming I did the mistake), it was more about having a discussion about how some of these bonuses are built up and how unfair they are for the players.

and who decide's if bonus fair or no? This is your opinion, and you can't say casino bonuses scam.
Also why bonus unfair? Bonus unfair when in terms written YOU MUST WAGER BONUS x50, you get 100$ bonus and see that wagering for it 10000, and live chat inform you that they just forget to add wager for deposit + bonus x 50. Since all terms clear, bonus can't be unfair. It is just, bad for me, for example, but not unfair.

This discussion is going to turn to how you have no clue about how to correspond in a professional manner and how threatening a casino with your CM membership can affect that membership.

I can't see how this bonus is unfair. It may take a while to complete but that does not mean you can stomp your feet and call the casino names and threaten them about it.

This particular bonus has been reviewed here before.

ps Congrats Homerbert!

Well, being a member here for 7 years and never complained about anything should kind of give a hint that I´ve never had any problems with any casinos previously i believe (And before Tropica decided to post all mail conversation, my inital post was a discussion regarding if such bonuses are scams or not). Unfortunately things got slightly hostile because i mentioned their brand...

If the bonus is fair or not is what the discussion is about (read first post), obviously my opinion is clear aswell as yours. The idea of discussions is to give their views from different perspectives just like you did and for others to get a different understanding of the issue.

With that said, I´m not claiming they are a scam, It is a question, just like the headline of the thread.

So here is the math for the promotion:
1. deposit plus bonus = 2525 needs to be wagered 75 times = 189375
2. 10% of the deposit is 2.50, meaning I would need to spin 189375/2.50 = 75750 times

I happen to like this bonus for all the reason that you just mentioned. I can make a small deposit and play non stop all weekend or all week long. So I can get my "fix" for a small cost. I know that I have a small chance to win on this, but there is a chance. I only take this bonus to extend my entertainment value. Where else can you get 42 hours of entertainment for $25???

My comment wasn't concerning anything said here. I was referring to that e-mail exchange you had with Tropica. This forum is a very good place to discuss the pros and cons of any matters like this. The e-mails played a big role in how this played out for you. You called them stupid, retarded, a ripoff etc. basically because you didn't read/understand all the terms of their offer. With a little tact and some research on your part you might have gotten a re-do and been able to enjoy the bonus as it was intended and retained your status with Rival.

I read all the posts in this thread and the previous thread concerning this particular bonus and there is nothing nefarious in it. It was not intended to be completed in an hour.

The number of players who actually manage to cashout from a promotion like this must be extremely low, my guess is somewhere around 2-3%? so if you say you average 70 cashouts from this promotion a month, then I'm guessing around 2300-3500 players take it each month?

Since you revealed how many manage to cashout from it each month, could you tell us how many actually play it each month? :) (I'm just curious)

I agree that those huge deposit bonuses “extended my entertainment value” I was able to play for quite a long time.. I was able to try a few new games that I wanted to check out and almost made w/r before busting out.. However, the whole time I was playing, I couldn’t help but not trust all the rules and max cashouts and I thought that I probably missed some small print in the bonus rules… After busting out I played a 15.00 free chip …just because it was sitting there in my cashier window..It only had a 30.00 max w/d. I played for a few minutes ..made w/r and wondered how to get the 30.00 seeing as how the only w/d method was a Wire Transfer with 100.00 minimum. I felt so stupid for even playing that chip. I thought maybe I can use it as a deposit.
Well.. what they wanted me to do was open a Skrill account… make another deposit.. play that…and then feel free to w/d my 30.00. Maybe I missed it in the bonus rules, but Skrill was not mentioned anywhere.
I wondered if after playing such a long time on the first Deposit Bonus if in the end there was going to be some cooky cashout rule or some major no – no because of a certain game or wager I made.. Casholot bonus rules need to be made a little clearer so that bonus users that have stars in our eyes can have all the facts.
Not sure if I will go back.. I hope to, but the trust factor is not there yet.
Just sayin-
Jackie

OP, this is entirely your fault.

I will say that I wish there were a way to restrict maximum bet size while playing a bonus such as this, where your withdrawal can be declined if you bet over the permitted amount.

But even so, it was clearly in the terms of the bonus.

I don't take bonuses anywhere, and mostly it's because of the unattractive terms. The only exception is 3Dice which have minimal terms, and in my experience, no terms which can be broken unilaterally by the player (such as - as here in the opening complaint - having to calculate maximum permitted bet sizes, remain mindful of prohibited games, high wagering requirements).

Hi,

Without letting the cat out of the bag, 54% of our players play this offer each month.

Naturally, I can't give more information that this. This offer is not something I would take up, but it is fun and you get to experience Rival games on our money with a chance of winning "Big" also.

I have mentioned before that I can't publish our other offers, but this offer is 1 of several. We try to cater everyone's needs. With our new casinos coming online soon, we will have different (new) offers and new terms which we hope will meet accepted standards.

All the best,
Dieter

Frankly, just for the fun of it, I might take up this offer if:
1/ I wasn't bonus-banned at all Rivals
2/ ecocard is a depositing option.:D

Ok no problem :) i was just curious as to what the actual odds of making a cashout from it were. If you hadn't mentioned the 70 cashouts then i wouldn't have asked.

But clearly it is a successful bonus for you casino since you say that 54% of you players take it each month, and as someone mentioned earlier in the thread it does give a lot of playtime for a small cost although the odds of making a withdrawal must be small.

I haven't played at your casino but you certainly have gotten a lot of praise here at CM so i might check out some of your other offers at some point.

Chopley took the insane 1777% bonus there twice, once losing (on a £100 deposit) and once cashing £900 out which was paid promptly. He read the terms and conditions and wagered the max 6.25 a spin, on the Golf game which he saw paid nearly 99% RTP with the 'skill' part of the feature factored in. After they paid him they removed it from the permissible games when using a bonus though....:D:D:D
On the 10,000% offer just accept you're buying a lot of 'fun mode' play with a small chance of being rewarded with up to 625£ if you achieve WR. Otherwise choose a different bonus. Simples.
