The thing with gambling, is if you refrain for a month and save up all that cash, and then lose it, then you're really not that much better off than if you'd just been gambling it away the whole time. It's not like drinking or drugs in that you can say "well I slipped up but it was just one drink" - you can literally lose a years worth of progress in a few hours.

If your goal was to stop for one month, then well done.
If not then keep it up and don't get cocky kid ;)

I guess I should update;

Since my original post in June, I've had several isolated "incidents" where I would usually blow between $50 and $475. Actually that $475 one was
somewhat recently. I'd still say I'm better off than before and I've had a new life/job that's been a necessary distraction.

In the interest of keeping myself honest :)

Keep saying I quite every now and then (I virtually did for about 4 months).

In September, lost $1100 in a single day at 3Dice. Cancelled credit card after that and quitting was obviously on my mind again.

Then in early October, I won over $7000 at Maple Casino over the course of a week playing 10-handed All Aces. So then I ordered new credit
card.

Then afterwards at Maple and All Slots, I lost about $2400 since that time in real money and about $8000 in PLAY money, again playing 10-handed and 50-handed All Aces. At first I was losing it at Maple, but after awhile I said to myself "okay maybe they've turned the "shit" switch on cause I've been winning.......", hence switched to ALL-SLOTS (using mostly PLAY money) and lost some more.

The high of winning $7000 over a week has past. I ran and biked for two hours today and hopefully exercise will help to avoid the computer screen in the future, while the recent losses will help avoid delusions of grandeur and that $7000 wks just don't come along that often.

Best way is to permanently shut your accounts citing a gambling problem. If you leave them open, you leave yourself open to these isolated lapses. Good luck!

Done this with Bodog and 32Red. It does indeed help in the short-term.

Never looked back on closing my account with Bodog (RTG is terrible!). 32Red had a bit of regrets. They're a good outfit and MGS was/is my fav gaming software. I guess my regret would be because in theory I figured I could save on my losses with their Dish of the Day bonuses; fyi tough I guess not much as the potential to lose $8000 is far greater than sum of all of their weekly bonuses! Nevertheless, bit of regret closing that account because I'd eventually just go to another online casino that wasn't as good.

Not to blow my own trumpet or anything, but I haven't gambled since July, tbh I missed it for a little while, but now I don't really care, I don't do the lottery, scratchcards b&m casinos or bingos, nothing :) This is thanks to situations in my life which I can't discuss, which is a blessing in disguise.
