Jackpot Capital/RTG Game does not play by its own rules

This is an issue I noticed with pai gow poker while I was playing on Jackpot capital. The game does not operate correctly under its own rules. I'm unsure whether this is an issue with Jackpot Capital writing down the wrong rules, or RTG for the game not following their own written rules. If I had to bet on it I'd say the error is probably on RTG's end.

on the left side of the screenshot, the house way for pai gow poker in Jackpot Capital. You can access this page by clicking the help button on the main screen.

on the right side of the screenshot, a particular hand that shows the written house way is not being followed.

As you can see, Under the splitting guideline, 2 pair is to always be split. However, in the hand, 99/77 was not split and AT was split instead.

Anyone decent at pai gow would tell you this error is not in the player's favor. I don't have the exact numbers but I estimate house edge is ~0.3% higher than what it would be if the house way is followed as it is written.

Thoughts?

Pai Gow info

Hi there,

We're awaiting on feedback from our gaming provider.

Kind regards,
Yasmeen

I'd like to say that I've been more than patient waiting for a response on this. But it has been almost 2 months since I initiated the questions. If you hoped I had forgotten about this -- I didn't.

I didn't want to point my fingers at Jackpot Capital for dealing a rigged game, but given no answers over a 2 month period (which should be more than sufficient), I'm starting to get really suspicious that JC is purposely rigging the game.

I'll ask and wait one last time for an answer before officially making accusations.

I didn't want to point my fingers at Jackpot Capital for dealing a rigged game...

As far as I know, it's impossible that a game would work any differently at Jackpot Capital than at any other RTG casino (except Bodog) - they can't hack into the software and fiddle the games. In which case the issue that you have would be with RTG and not Jackpot Capital.

If Jackpot Capital was waiting for word back from RTG, I agree it seems to be long enough to wait for an answer. Maybe try sending a PM to the rep as they don't always visit the forum looking through the posts.

Hi,

Not to derail from the subject, but, as I had read in another thread that bonus rules had changed

I went to read the newest version.

My reason for this was I received an e-mail from them questioning why I haven't played lately.

They said if I reply with my reasons I would get a free bonus with only a 30x playthrough.

Well, I found :

""19. Customers whose last deposit is older than three months and claim a free bonus, are not entitled to a withdrawal. ""

So, I went into the casino software and sure enough, I have not deposited since the middle of March (4+ months)

I wrote to them again, asking about this particular "rule".

So, they want me back, give me yet another freebie.......... but........... to follow their rules...

I cannot cash-out, even the maximum (5x the bonus).

I have another e-mail sent off to them, asking about this rule.

Sorry for the derail.

Response from gaming provider

Hi there,

I've received a response on Pai Gow Poker from RTG as follows:

Our server code is based on the following book:
Optimal Strategy for Pai Gow Poker by Stanford Wong.

In the book, the hand in question [9-9-7-7-x, A-10] is explained in the pages: 38-39:

Chapter 3. Section 3. Two Pair (table 4: Minimum Singletons to Fivecard Two Pair).

There is describes that in the case of 2 pairs (being 9-9, 7-7) with a minimum of A-3, it will set the A-X as the high hand. It will not split the pairs.

The help online may not be as detailed as the book in this regards and may include omissions, so that is not to say the game has a problem.

Kindest regards,
Yasmeen
