Too many good hands??

Just want to share my experiance of supervegas poker room that I had yesterday.

I have been playing poker for a few months online and play at interpoker and their linked sites (William hill, littlewoods) I play at thelow limit tables 1/2 limit holdem.

I started on supervegas as they offer $100 for 500 raked hands, anyway..

after playing 20 or so hands I began to notice that nearly every pot was being won with a good hand ie straight, flush, F/H. So I gets me pen out and decide to note the next 50 hands and the results are:

11 Full House
12 Flushes
13 Straights
6 Trips
5 2 Pair
2 1 Pair
1 High card (A)

There were also 11 non showdowns making 61 hands in total (4 hands were shown by the player 2 straights and 2 trips!!)

I actually won $35 but the it didnt feel right at all, maybe it was just a rush of good hands but in very many hours indeed online ive never seen so many good hands.

ps Flops were nearly always coordinated.

Wondered has anyone else had similar experiance and if there is something fishy why??? makes no sence to control cards in a pokerroom because its not gonna benifit the casino at all

Actually... giving everyone good hands does make money for the poker room. If you have what you think is a good hand with a high chance of winning you are more likely to play. However, if everyone has a 'good' hand that they feel will win they will do the same.

Bigger hands held by more players = bigger pots but also BIGGER RAKES for the poker room.

If everyone has unsuited 2s and 7s everyone folds. If everyone has at least a high pair everyone stays in ultimately making more money for the house.

You know what, you are 100pc right. Ive been racking my brains all weekend about my session and thats it!!!

Also I discussed my results with one of my poker playing friends and he downloaded and played with exactly the same results as me. He was not impressed and has fired an email off to them and intends to write to "inside edge" (a uk poker/gamers mag)

Im nearly certain that they are creating good hands/pots now and I am discusted quite frankly I really am. I can almost understand casinos rigging their blackjack LOL but this really is the taking the pi$$.

Is this a crypt skin? I cant find it at pokerpulse.

Most rooms and skins are Pokertracker supported thus an expert could find oddities in the number of dealt start hands, river cards, flushes etc. In most/all cases this is simply a case of being in a good game. If people are flopping and suited cards, pocket pairs, connectors, anything basically you will have much better hands and worse beats. Of course there is the case that a room could juice the cards (and i have wondered this myself playing online for years) to pump the rake but if the room is supported by pokertracker it is about 100% they would get caught and exposed. I actually check my pokertracker stats vs probabilities from time to time on 5 rooms and all seems OK.

junk cards seems to win

i had the same experience...worst of all, i keep losing big pots to junk cards.

for example, i had A5 and i raised during pre-flop but 2 players kept re-raising me. the community card showed 6,5,5 and i raised which they re-raised to the max. the turn card was 4 and the same crazy raising. river card was a 2 at this point i thought with the crazy pre-flop raising there cards could be AA or a pair of high cards but unlucky for me they had the cards that i fear most.... player 1 had 6 3 unsuited while player 2 had 8 3 unsuited. i could understand player 1 with 6 3 and hitting something on the flop but even with that you should be a very crazy player to raise and re-raise.

but player 2.....there something wrong about him.

This kind of play sounds more like collaboration to me. If I saw something like that happen more than once, I'd file a formal complaint. Something stinks about that.

You don't mention what position you raised from, but you do know that A5 is a junk hand too, don't you? In my experience, if players see you making lots of raises with tripe like this, they are going to start gambling with you.

It may have been collusion, but it looks to me like the 6-3 tried to isolate you and the 8-3 was trying to play like he had a pair of aces (a misguided effort in a small-stakes game). 6-3 caught a piece of the flop, and didnt think you did. 8-3 wouldn't give up his bluff.

Both played like crap, but thats the world of small-stakes poker.
