I did a search first, but couldn't find anything except "Cleo" kept bringing me to references about the slot game, not the casino I am trying to research.

So for the best info (as usual) I turn to my much experienced group of friends here.

Through FaceBook it game me $20 Freeplay. Software is unique........terms and conditions seem ok, other than if you want to be able to w/d you have to validate your identity etc...........BUT this site also requests a W9 Tax form which is a US Internal Revenue form for declaring miscellaneous income on your personal taxes each year.

Their software as I wandered through it in play mode contains many games that are similar to land based casinos.

I am always looking for new software and different games -- but careful to check out new sites (or new to me sites)

So.......................what do you all know about this online casino?

I didn't see it on any of the CM lists for Rogue, Accredited, etc.

Thanks for any info..........

This is essentially a casino in disguise, and if this really is legal under current US law, how come other casinos have not been able to make themselves legal by adopting a similar structure. It seems everything is pinned to the concept that there is no facility to withdraw your funds, they can only be exchanged for goods. However, you MUST place wagers in order to make your promotional points available to spend on goods.

It is no different to a casino paying out in shopping vouchers instead of cash, and I would have thought this would have been done long ago if it really was legal.

Since they say it is legal, they should have no problem with a US player asking the DoJ or local sherriffs office if they can see any issues with it.

Thanks for the reply.

From what I can see there are two different elements or ways to win. "Cash" can be won and is paid via check. Secondly instead of comp points like other casinos, you earn SPREE points that can be redeemed for prizes.

I haven't deposited or tried to w/d --- but it does "appear" at first glance that there is a w/d method for cash winnings.

But I am still trying to sort through it all so am looking for anyone here who has played and won to validate it all. 20x playthrough it what appears to be their wagering req.

Others who have played/won/experienced it - I would appreciate hearing more.

Thanks,
Diane

There was another thread. A player had deposited and all of a sudden the software started to play up and wouldn't let them do anything. Support told them the software "only works in Windows 8", itself pretty silly given that Windows 8 is just out, and only a small minority of players will have just bought a new PC with Windows 8 on it. When CS was told this, they told the player they could simply download Windows 8 for free by "googling it". I can't see a 100% US legal company ever telling a customer that the only fix for their issue was to illegally download a pirate copy of the necesary software. This CS exchange is what makes me confident that the whole thing is some kind of scam from the outset, and is designed to get players to deposit and gamble, with this promotional aspect merely being a front to lend credibilty to the claim that this is 100% legal.

Since players are asked to pay for promotional credits, and then have to wager them on games of chance before recieving a promotional shopping voucher redeemable for their resulting balance, there is no way this is going to be considered legal under US law. I suspect that they will operate for a while, and then vanish, possibly leaving players with worthless shopping vouchers or no access to the funds they have deposited.

They are not actually based in the USA, the company behind this is registered in Cyprus, and thus out of reach of US laws should customers have cause to complain. They may have a call centre which is US based, but so do other casinos that target US players - it doesn't make them legal.

Diane......nice to see you :)

Please don't deposit with these crooks.

Integrity is the most important thing when it comes to online casinos, and these guys are misrepresenting themselves right off the bat.

There is NO such animal as a LEGAL US based online casino. If you read the fine print (hope you did) you'll see some crap.about the funds to pay players being provided by "sponsors" and is limited to $10m in total......and given you are a high roller, what happens if you hit big and they've already reached their limit? You lose.

The whole idea of being paid in prize credits could be another con. No doubt the prices are inflated, so you would be getting much less value for what is essentially your money.

Add to that what could be dodgy software.

Waaaaay too many red flags.

I have to say that I'm surprised any CM member would even consider depositing here. A freebie? No harm there if they pay, but IMO it could also be a giant data/credit card harvesting exercise.

Thanks for the reply and advice. That's why I always START here before I deposit or do anything. It all seems funky to me as well. Will stay clear.

Good to be back! Missed you all!

Anyone playing here? Any updates? This is one of the most mysterious casinos so far. (wait not a casino a sweepstake). I have seen the problems people have had with the software, but beyond that all my searches really are not turning up complaints. Have not seen anyone complaining about not being paid. Most of my searches have turned up some positive feedback. Been monitoring them for a couple months now and not seeing much from the most informed group in this industry (here of course).

Really besides the software issues, horrible support, and the fact they made a few suggestions I wasn't comfortable with.
I have seen a few people get lucky, win and get paid. I've been under the impression it takes about 3 weeks to get a check, but it is drawn on a US bank, and so far none of them have bounced.
Plus the 30 times wagering requirements was kind of meh to me.

I'm not by any means suggesting anyone deposit or play here but I actually have won here and received my check within approx 5 days. I deposited here a couple of times and was doubled charged but it was refunded promptly . So play @ your own risk, but I have seen post where people have won a considerate amounts.

how was the document process? any run arounds?

Isn't this the same software than Casinoval?? Maybe you could check out Casinoval... AFAIR KasinoKing recommends them on his website, so i guess it should be "OK" to play there... I don't want to risk it though, heard a lot about extremly slow payouts...

The cashout process was very smooth . They email you the link to download a verification form and a W-9 form , you send in id and proof of address and its a done deal. Payments are sent via fed-ex.
I really love the games and hopefully they stay an ok casino

Being in the US, they have to ask for your SS# because if you win, they have to send you a W9 and you will have to declare it on your tax return.

I don't know what the minimum is now for taxes but even a B&M casinos give you a W9 for winnings over the minimum.

I like the games they have too but I'm not at all comfortable with playing for real money there. They are just an online version of the strip mall sweepstakes gaming shops.

You are not depositing money, you are buying coupons that can then be used to deposit to the casino. They called it buying telephone cards at the one sweepstakes shop I went in. Same thing, different name.

If this minor technical difference is perfectly legal, why have none of the bigger online casinos thought of it and tried it:confused:

Apart from the technicalities, the site looks like a casino, and appears to play like one. Would US players object if, for example, Microgaming adopted a similar technical approach in order to return to the US, with players purchasing vouchers and cashing out vouchers rather than actual Dollars?

I would expect a secondary market would develop in cashed out vouchers so that winning players could effectively turn them back to Dollars if they wish.

How does a "legal" strip mall gaming shop differ from an "illegal" casino situated in the same mall?

You're not understanding what they are......IIRC they are NOT random games but are actually eye candy fronts for a sweepstakes running in the background. Whether you win or lose depends on whether it is your "turn" to win.

Anyone depositing money with these clipjoints is crazy.

I'm certain that, if these places truly ARE online casinos based in the USA for US players, they would have been shut down and prosecuted well before now.

Of course, if there is evidence to the contrary, I'm all ears.

MGS wouldn't touch this kind of thing with a 40 foot pole.....not if they wanted to be awarded a US online license when the time comes.

If you look you will see they are not in USA they are Cyprus. As I was going through there website I saw it. LOL no way in hell are they getting SS number. Also form there having you sign is a IRS tax form lets just hope that you get your refund for taxes before they do. They can do anything with that form.

First off I do agree with you on the concern of giving a ss#, but with that being said any casino with your name and address can easily get your social security #. The w-9 form is standard for independent income normally over $600, they wont be able to take a refund or commit any type of fraud with the form. The reason they make players fill it out is for the papertrail to cover their ground that it is just a "sweepstake". I would be surprised if they even report the earnings, they may or may not.

This papertrail goes along with the justification that this is "legal". IMO this flaunting that it is legal online gambling in the US is pretty ballsy. They are using this "sweepstake" loophole to justify it is legal. It is a very unique angle they take and do give them credit for thinking out of the box, but in the end if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, what is it?

Unfortunatley the advertisment and justification of it being "legal" is probably attracting lots of attention and they are playing with fire. Its almost like they are asking for a fight with the DOJ, and its not really a fight because DOJ is always right and will nuke all that justification of legal gambling.

PS. If shit came down with this casino and DOJ, thats when people will wish they really hadnt filled out that w-9.

BTW were the games any good? How much did you win? Was this whole raffle thing and playing at the casino as complicated as it sounds.
