Any topgame casino fans here? All of the casinos are down due to DDos Attacks on their servers, here's the official statement from the management topgame:

Hello to all,

My name is Scott and I am an online rep for Topgame Technology. I would like to post this official statement from Topgame management regarding the recent attack:

"To Whom It May Concern,
Starting on November 16th and still ongoing, Topgame has been under a DDoS attack (Distributed Denial of Service Attack). The attack targeted one of our Licensees, and quite quickly after shifted towards Topgame as further attempt to damage the Licensee. We are still experiencing the attack at this moment and are continuously working on stabilizing the system. The attack does not affect all Licensees equally.

Following intensive communication with the attackers we came to realize that they were trying to dictate, to us and our licensees, operational terms and conditions. This seems to be a regular business practice for them. Rest assured, Topgame does NOT negotiate with criminals. We are working with the best anti-cybercrime companies in order to prevent any additional DDoS attacks or other crimes against our systems.

To our surprise, recent investigation has revealed that the attacker does not only own and manage several online casinos and a fairly known affiliate program, but has also recently launched his own gaming software.

Based on this information, we consider this no less than unlawful attempt to physically destroy whoever he considers 'in his way'. The names and all personal info of the attackers are at our possession and we will report the people involved to the higher authorities.
We can state with 100% certainty that we'd rather be under attack than negotiate with them. We are fighting back to protect our systems and Licensees as well as anyone else who may be a victim of these illegal actions.

Your help and understanding will give us the strength to continue fighting for what is right in this industry. We shall NOT allow criminals to dictate the operation of this industry by force of threats and take-downs!

It is important to bear in mind that once this happens to one Licensee today, tomorrow it will easily be done to another, to a site owner, or an affiliate like you.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your understanding.

Topgame Management"

Thank you all very much,

Scott

Not sure who it was.. but I hope they solved it as soon as possible. Or else, they will be losing alot of customers.
It's been already more than a week the server is down and up, down and up! *phew*

Interesting. Casinomeister was hit by a massive ddos attack in March 2010. I always assumed it was a recently added rogue. It will be interesting to compare notes when it's over.

How horrible, and if it was someone who was recently added as a rogue, how pathetic is that? I mean really, they are the ones that did something unethical or wronged someone, and then have the nerve to try and disprupt the forum you provide to all people in the industry, players, affliates the casinos themselves.

Is there anyway to find out how is behind all of this and if they do find out who is behind this, is there any legal recourse anyone can take against these idiots launching the attacks?

Looks like Rome Casino/Top Gaming is accusing Affactive of this ddos attack.

That's one heck of an accusation. I hope TopGame has proof.

Hi,

Just wanted to say that we still don't have the full picture, but for sure have nothing to do with that.

Our RTG brands are under DDOS attack for the past few hours. It's almost blocked and will be solved shortly.

That is one interesting thread at GPWA with accusations, denials and plenty of speculation...but thus far apparently no concrete proof.

That said, Topgame appear confident enough to stand by their very serious accusation against affactive.

It is going to be fascinating to see how this pans out and whether it leads to civil or criminal litigation.

It might make the LAC conference much more entertaining. :D

Rome Casino must be confident. I would never make any comment like this unless my lawyer had written it for me :p

But if they effed up, not good.

I dont understand how rome could accuse affactive, i mean affactive also has a casino with topgame software. Makes no sense to me.

Fascinating. I hope we hear how this comes out in the end. :eat:

Very very serious accusation to make without proof. Even newspapers when reporting arrests don't make claims of guilt before trials are completed.

My first thought was that if I were to launch a DDOS attack (not that I know how, nor would I), wouldn't I cloak my identity? I see a GWPA member has brought up the subject of IP Spoofing. I guess this way the terrorist could kill two birds with one stone.

If I was Rome, I would leave it the proper authorities to seek and arrest the criminals involved.

The attacker is definitely very smart BUT if he/she isn't from Affactive, then the attacker is super smart. I'm amazed by the capability of the attacker to
bring the whole topgame server down. It's either topgame server defences not good or the attacker is TOO GOOD. Hope it will be solved as soon as possible,
I missed playing at topgame casinos :(

LOL. TopGame is one of the cheapest and least reputable softwares out there. CM could probably bring their server down just by telling all the members here to surf to their website.

There do not appear to be any further developments since last night over at GPWA, which still leaves this issue unresolved and these damaging accusations still standing.

I imagine the next step is either an embarrassed withdrawal of the accusations or lawyers becoming involved.

Intepol and various European police forces have combined to act against this sort of criminality in the past and one has to wonder whether TopGame has reported the matter to their local cops to start the ball rolling.

Kavman makes a good point when he says: "I dont understand how rome could accuse affactive, i mean affactive also has a casino with topgame software. Makes no sense to me." And danielg's latest post indicates that their RTG brand is being impacted by DDoS as well, making the whole issue more intriguing imo.

Finally, just a note that DDoS does not necessarily have to involve the triggering party directly; if you know where to go there are low-lifes who control bot armies and can be hired to launch attacks like this using a variety of concealment technologies.

Well, if they haven't yet, I do hope that Rome Casino gets the authorities involved. And Affactive too, since they are being targeted and besmirched as well.

Jail sentences have been handed out for such attacks, it's the online equivalent of bombing offices.

The ongoing row poses a number of questions that remain unanswered:

* There has been no mention of police reportage or legal injunction by either side, surely something that would have emerged by now?

* Affactive has an operation that uses TopGame software, yet no mention of whether this has been impacted has been made.

* There has been no confirmation from RTG that its Affactive casinos have also been hit as claimed by DanielG

* Most importantly, no hard evidence supporting the TopGame accusations against Affactive has yet been produced

* IP spoofing and other concealment technology can be deployed by "bot armies for hire" criminals, an important consideration before allocating blame

For a DDoS attack to work it has to come from a LOT of different places all at one time, if it's just coming from one place it will slow down but not enough to stop service. If all or most of the incoming were flagged as coming from one place then it seems suspiciously like spoofed or forged IPs. Unless somehow the Affactive server was hacked and their server really is sending all the requests? But you'd expect that would make their server crash and burn also.

AFAIK some of the guys who do DDoS-for-hire are fairly sophisticated, they can have servers spread out all over the place, all over the world. IOW, some of them really know their stuff and are well-prepared to skirt the usual point-of-attack limitations.

Sometimes I wonder, why are they attacking each other for customers or create problems.. Why don't all the online casinos work together as a team
to get the players' money as much as possible! hehe. :p

Maybe someone read how rome casino was stealing players money and their constant excuses to not pay and are now making them pay. Quite frankly, they had it coming to them. Hope it puts them out of business because they are the criminals.

Regardless of what your personal beef with Rome may be this kind of agenda-laden attitude advocating criminal behaviour is WAY out of line.

Earlier this year (in Korea I think it was) a bunch of sites got hit with DDoS and a lot of the traffic was from zombie computers - people who unknowingly downloaded malware that was then remotely triggered to help bring down the sites. The people who owned the computers had no idea anything was going on, because the malware doesn't cause any problems on their own systems, unlike previous versions that would commit suicide after running by destroying the boot sector of the host computer or whatever, this one supposedly just goes dormant until someone wants to use it again.

Funny they were talking about passing a "Zombie PC Prevention Act" but I'm not sure what ever happened with it - I was hoping for a YouTube spoof at the very least! ;)

I don't pay much attention to Affiliates and the like. Can someone tell me:

Who is Affactive - Which Casinos do they represent?

Who is claiming that Affactive is attacking them?

Thanks

Nate
