Did you ever have a Red Flush account GM? They might be cross-marketing as the domain playlavida.com is regged to stargaze media (instra) who also own the actual casino domain, casinolavida.com.

Did you ever have a Red Flush account GM? They might be cross-marketing as the domain playlavida.com is regged to stargaze media (instra) who also own the actual casino domain, casinolavida.com.

They should make it clear they are sending the invite because of an existing account at Red Flush, otherwise it looks & feels like spam, and will have a NEGATIVE effect on a player who is already plagued by casino spam. Many are NOT now just deleting it, but are REPORTING it to their ISP's and/or email providers. Enough complaints about a particular sending domain will get it blacklisted, and then even the GENUINE mailers will be blocked as spam.

No, I have never had an account at Red Flush.

None of the above applies here however, so just HOW is GrandMaster receiving this spam (and it IS spam now, not "cross marketing"), which appears to be coming DIRECTLY from the casino, and NOT from an affiliate.

Im getting this same SPAM every other day.

I can tell you it does nothing to inspire me to trust Casino La Vida.

Why?

Well, I have an account at Red Flush. So, if the want to tell me about this new casino using the account details I provided to Red Flush then it should have been an email something like this:

Sender: Red Flush
Subject: 'Red Flush brings you a Brand New Casino' or 'Introducing Casino La Vida'
Content: Red Flush is proud to bring you a new casino etc etc blah blah

Now, if I received this I would be saying "Cool - Red Flush are a good outfit and its great they have told me about it Ill give them a try" and it would instill some instant trust in the new casino.

However, when I'm sent something with a subject "519 in your account" and I find out their actually ISNT $519 in my account because its just a ploy to get me to open the email like SPAMMERS use it just makes me ANGRY . Casino management should know better.

A bad start IMO, and Im sure there are others who were just as annoyed as I was. As a result, Ive decided not to play there.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, today I have been spammed by Red Flush. rfmailer.com is another domain registered to Stargaze Media.

This shit is a bit much!

Update: checking back through my Junk folders I see that several of my accounts have been getting these, maybe 20 or so this week alone. Where's my "Spammer Fry" flamethrower. :axeman:

I've notified the i-Gaming rep about this.

Anything back from them on this?

I'm guessing their Accreditation must now be in jeopardy, no? The "Standards for Accredited Casinos" do say:
Marketing Standards

...* Must not spam, and must take appropriate actions against any affiliates or any third parties who do spam.

Perhaps that rep needs a wee reminder. :poke:

Well, if this IS coming direct from the casino, this looks like a MAJOR spamming operation, not a mere "mistake".

The fact that the mailers are coming from a domain registered to Stargaze means that Stargaze (although not necessarily the casino division) are responsible, rather than an affiliate.

Affiliate spam often tracks back to a domain known for spamming, and this is NOT registered to the casino operators, but to one of the mass marketing companies that use spamming as part of their service.

Also, IF it is coming from an affiliate, it will install with an affiliate tag. IF it is coming from direct marketing, the "cookie" will contain tracking information that relates to the particular campaign, and this will NOT be of the same format as an affiliate tag.

On a side note, today I received a snail mail inviting me to joing Casino La vida, information about their welcome bonus and a CD. Now, I registered an account there over a month ago. Why would they send me this?

Hi Guys,

I am sorry that I missed this. Thanks for the PM Max.

This is not acceptable. I will investigate and would appreciate it if you could forward the original emails to me. We do have companies that are sending email on our behalf. However the recipients of these emails are meant to be targeted and have double opt in.

We insisted that one of our domain be used to manage unsubscribe. It sounds as if there is a problem with the unsubscribe link as well and I will look into this. I have established that there 5 emails sent from this domain this week.

In the mean time please unsubscribe from the email and send me a PM to make sure that the unsubscribe engine is working correctly.

Best regards,
Wayne

The spammer, playlavida.com is registered to Stargaze Media, just like casinolavida.com, so you cannot claim it is a completely independent company you have no control over. For all I know, it could be the guy in the office next to you sending out the spam.

Max and I should not be on your mailing list in the first place. How about you removing all the e-mails where you cannot prove that the owner of that e-mail address opted in to receive your e-mails?

Hi GrandMaster,

For all I know, it could be the guy in the office next to you sending out the spam.
I wish - would be easier to beat up the guilty party :)

As I explained earlier this is our domain. However we do not have access to the data. We were informed while negotiating the service, that all the players on the list(s) have opted in.

What I am trying to establish is exactly how they are mailing players in this forum that have not opted in. Please send PM me with the email address that was used to trace the origins.

Best regards,
Wayne

As I explained earlier this is our domain. However we do not have access to the data. We were informed while negotiating the service, that all the players on the list(s) have opted in.
The spam is coming from a domain associated to you (also registered to Stargaze Media) used with your permission. As far as I am concerned you are just as responsible if you are letting someone else spam on your behalf.

What I am trying to establish is exactly how they are mailing players in this forum that have not opted in. Please send PM me with the email address that was used to trace the origins.
The obvious explanation is that they bought mailing lists. Why don't you conduct an audit and require the spammers to prove that the owners of the e-mail addresses really have opted in? Till then, turn off their access to your server.

Received another one, only this one from an aff by the looks of it.
maybe you can take care of it.

Thanks

we do not have access to the data. We were informed while negotiating the service, that all the players on the list(s) have opted in.

:what:

wait wait wait. Zing! Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I think you just admitted your company spams.

You are not using your own list? You did not provide the list to the emailers? You are not emailing your own customers?

But everyone on the list is supposed to have opted in. To what exactly?

FWIW Wayne seems to have gotten the spam tap turned off for my email addresses. Thanks for that, though some of the questions asked here are good ones and need some forthright answers.

I get those from both Red Flush and Lavida like every other day, Im in USA so I can not even join Lavida, but Red flush I already have an account so I do not understand, why these are being sent to me. I delete them immediately.

Hi All,

wait wait wait. Zing! Somebody correct me if I am wrong but I think you just admitted your company spams.

You are not using your own list? You did not provide the list to the emailers? You are not emailing your own customers?

But everyone on the list is supposed to have opted in. To what exactly?

We as well as the rest of the industry use media agencies for player acquisition. We do make every attempt to establish that the players have opted into a list on a web site or service, to receive casino/gambling information. We do email our own existing customers that have registered with the casino.

Any member receiving email that does not have an unsubscribe or one that does not work, please send me the original email to take action.

Best regards,
Wayne
