Hi, i made a bet on a soccer match, Team A to win and over 2.5 3 goals. The sportsbook that i bet always has a (n) thing next to the home team name when the game is being played in a neutral venue. There was nothing, so i made the bet. When i turn on the tv to watch the game, it is being played in a totally neutral venue, with more fans of the "away" team! The "home" team is good at home but sux otherwise, and i would never make this bet if i knew the game was being played in a neutral venue. So what do you guys think should be the grading of this bet?

thank you and sorry for my english

your not happy with the bet id get in touch with the sportsbook immediately IF theres def a mistake on there part and if what u say is accurate then id be surprised if they didnt refund your stake as it was an abvious error on there part...

I got in contact with the site, they reviewed the wager and decided to grade it as a loss anyway. I sent numerous reports from the media that clearly states the game was played in a neutral venue.
Is there something i can do about this? I feel totally cheated... :(

They give you a reason why they decided it would be treated as a loss? and once again if what you said initially was correct then some more info might be useful as to what site it is etc etc...

The book is Pinnacle Sports. They simply said "Your wager has been graded according to our rules.".

The game was Portuguesa x Vasco, Brazilian Serie A soccer. As you can see in the link below (its in portuguese, no english version), Portuguesa was punished and lost the right to play in their home, therefore the game was played in a neutral venue, in another city.

"Punida pelo Superior Tribunal de Justia Desportiva (STJD) por incidentes no jogo diante do Flamengo, no Estdio do Canind, a Portuguesa resolveu mandar o jogo no interior paulista"

"Punished by the STJD because of circumstances in the match against Flamengo, in the Canind stadium, Portuguesa decided to play in the state 'interior' "

There are other reports too:

Local: Antnio Guimares, em Santa Barbara D'Oeste-SP

As you can see in wikipedia, Portuguesa is from So Paulo, So Paulo, and their stadium is the Canind Stadium, in So Paulo.

lol-portugees serie A league, very very dodgy. match fixing to it's finest in that league.

Although I feel you do have a case. You can consult the customer service and say this is how you place your bets a lot of the time, them being a sportsbook will know how important it is in soccer with home games etc. If they normally put up home/away or neutral then they need to do it everytime.

On the flip side you should have done your own investigation before placing that bet. did you not look at the serie A website to see who's playing what time and where???.

Yes, it is a bad error on their part.

I dont think you can do much about it though.

The odds were set, you accepted & confirmed.

You would have a case is they refused to void your bet before the kick-off but I think it is a done deal, its a sticky one though.
