Looks like this one is arriving at some point over the weekend. I've not played it yet (real world or online) - but it looks like a good old 'free spins' job, only 40 lines this time. That said, it appears the online equivalents of IGT games sometimes play around with the number of lines/payouts - so we'll wait and see.

If you can get past the pseudo 'girl power', self congratulatory nonsense at the start of this video -- they eventually get to a little review of the game:

Most interesting is the conversation about IGT going along the route of 'conforming' their slots so they sound the same in future... Not sure how that will fit in with the various themes, but we'll wait and see. One thing that I do wholeheartedly agree with is the requirement to make "bonus" symbols and "wilds" etc very different from the other symbols... They need to stand out to ensure that 'skipping a beat' moment when the reels drop in :D (Nothing worse than "Boogie Monsters" etc for symbols that all merge into each other... I've hit the bonus and not realised!)

Anyhow... All new slots, free spin ones especially, are good news in my book

Huh, I've seen this slot a lot at local B&M places, seemingly for a long time. The timestamp says February of this year, wonder if it's older (looks like it was from a 2006 tradeshow)? Haven't played it though.

The VP of development arguing that the focus was on "the math" was pretty damn surprising.

LOL...I just played this slot a fair bit the last week at the Ventian Macau. I like it personally. Basically its one with 5 reels and 5 paylines in view (so some weird paylines!) with Wilds that run in strips so you can get multiple wilds/wins filling up the reels. The Bonus is triggered by the originally titled "Bonus" symbol being in view on reels 2,3 and 4 and gives 5 free spins, retriggerable, but because the Wild symbols come in strips you can get some meaty wins...or total crap :)

A good addition this.

As an aside, the Venetian has IGT's "Cleopatra II". Its just like Cleo on Wagerworks with one major difference: you pick a number of free spins from one of 3 boxes (6 - 15 total) and the multiplier rises with each spin 1x, 2x, 3x etc etc. On one occasion I got 10, then a retrigger, so the FS multiplier ended up on x20 !! It's high variance - very volatile - and you need the FS to make it pay and even then there was no guarantee, but it was fun.

Spent most of my time playing "Shinobi" - a cracking slot (although two of the bonus rounds are boring pick 'em style, albeit with lovely graphics - think mutton dressed as lamb - once played then boring as hell) but the FS bonus occurs regularly and made up for it. Also played a fair bit of "Terminator" (IGT? - can't remember) which was pretty good fun but had a tendency to run very dry at times....that also had free spins but you had to get a certain symbol on Reel 1, then one more anywhere on 2 - 5. Hit 240x on one round - retriggers were easier than getting the initial FS.

Can't remember lol. Wasn't a massive amount. A few hundred maybe betting $10 a spin.

Oooh.. High roller! :D For some reason, I find it very hard to bet that big in Vegas... I'll VERY occasionally do the $5 slots (two coins) - but more around the $1 (Three coin) mark. There's a You Tube video where someone hits around $7000 dollars on the $50 (.50 cent) version of Cleo...

In fact - here it is:

We were playing in HK$ - so HK$10 is about US$1.30... nowhere near Simmo's lofty exploits online, and justifiably so. For the most part the slots were quite hungry, though Shinobi and Terminator were quite good fun. I had a couple decent payouts on another samurai-themed slot and also 50 Dragons - a slot designed especially for the Asian market. As I recall Simmo also had a pretty good hit on 50 Dragons.

I have been playing this game for about 4 months at my local Indian casino in Oklahoma. It is like heroin! I am so addicted to it that it all I can think about. I used to play VP but this has taken over. It is so fun! When you hit anything of value it has fireworks that go off and great music. Only 5 free spins but it can retrigger. I give this a BIG

Nasty game... LOL... but definitely can be addictive as it is high variance. Very similar to the 50 Dragons game. But I bet the ones in Macau are tighter than the ones in the US... :)

The other samurai game I was talking about, I think I had 5 retriggers for over 50 spins... LOL... on the next machine Simmo was grumbling that he didn't have even one bonus... :)

I emailed Virgin Casino about the Wolf Run release, this is their response

can't wait until u.s. players can play some of the igt games online!!! wolf run is very popular here in southern california and i don't play it much because the games are usually busy. it is similar to many of the Aristocrat games with the chained wilds and free spins feature (50 lions, etc...)

cleopatra II and shinobi are a blast!!! cleopatra II is a newer version of my favorite igt slot, buffet mania (you gotta try it if you like cleopatra II). the increasing multiplier is a great twist and retriggers allow up to 50 spins on buffet mania (50x multiplier!) shinobi is just plain fun with great music, sound effects, and a cool free spin bonus.

Here's another good one on free play... I don't really understand the bonus though... There's no multiplier on the free spins but "different reels are used"...

Anyhow - looks like there's some potential for the odd big hit, but no MONSTERS....

Fun nonetheless... I may even really push the boat out and wager some real money :eek2:

Played Wolf Run a lot during my last B&M casino trip. More often than not, it ate me alive, and it always gave me really crappy (2x - 5x bet) payouts during free spins. However, one afternoon I fed it a $20, and off an .80 bet, I hit a screenfull of the stacked wilds and something good (?), which put me at $350+, played a bit more (it was dead) and walked away w/$300.

I remember playing this at a B&M a while back. Off of $1-2 bets, you either got jack, or incredible spins.

One time I put $100 into it and got nothing; another $20 one other time left me with $300+.

This game is the very definition of high variance!

I'm getting more envious of IGT players online every day:cool: I've got some B&M screen shots of that game somewhere... I'll look for them.

You lucky barstards!

Now when are the multi-way games coming online?

I played this game at Getminted today. Is it just me or is there no way of stopping the win count-up during free spins? I hit wilds on first two reels and it proceeded to show what I won, one line at a time. The five free spins took several minutes to complete. Thank you.

Sadly not! One of the down sides to "no download" software I guess... It's mildly annoying on Cleopatra but, I agree, super annoying on Wolf Run -- watching it show ALL of your 25 coin wins.
Incidentally, the more I play this slot the less I like it.

The graphics are wayyyyy better at B&M, but the game seems to play the same ... to have the same personality... know what I mean?

And it WILL gobble up credits in a heartbeat.... over and over and over... seems even with a wild, the small 3ok hits payout really small, to give the illusion of 'hitting something' while you're actually losing hand over fist.

It's that really juicy 'potential' (rows and rows of wilds) that keeps us feeding it.
