Victor Chandler are running a promo from the 10th - 30th where if you wager 2250 you get 75. Of course some games are disallowed. Read the terms and you see......

Bets on any variation of Roulette, Baccarat and Craps will not contribute towards the bonus requirement.

OK nothing new there.

Then this.....

Even money bets will not contribute towards the bonus requirement.

Now that is a very ambiguous term. So does this mean any bet which pays even money doesn't count ? So casino war wouldn't count right ?
How about bets that can pay even money but also have possible higher pay-offs like some bets in pai-gai poker, three card poker, casino stud poker, video poker. All of those have returns which are even money but have returns which can also be higher if you get a good hand. Blackjack bets pay even money most of the time but if you get blackjack you get 3-2 so does it then count if you get 3-2 ? If you get paid even money on those bets does it not count ? If you get paid a different amount does it then count ? Or does it simply not count all the time and if at any point the bet pays even money it doesn't count ? Thing is then using that logic you could say slots are excluded as they can pay even money too.

Really dodgy term that and I can see it causing a lot of hassle. I've phoned them up and asked and the guy said ah yeah those are good questions I'm going to have to get in touch with the casino and ask.
I'm gonna call back later tonight and will post up if I get an answer.

it's a good argument and interesting to ponder, but i'm certain it just means placing bets with an expectation to break even, such as betting black and red on roulette, banker and player on baccarat (though there is a commission of banker wins so not exactly even money but close enough to make it an abusive bonus clearing tactic). they want you risking money, not hedging to play against only the zero/tie by betting right and wrong simultaneously.

edit: on further inspection i see you also say such games where this is possible are barred anyway. maybe there is another game like sic bo or something they haven't excluded where you can bet over and under, or odd and even, or heads and tails. or maybe they mean games that pay even money only, like paigow and war (albeit paigow has a commission so it's less than even and war has a tie bet that is 8:1 or whatever so there are multiple payouts). my best guess would be it is just pasted from a previous t and c that used that phrase instead of barring roulette, baccarat and craps, and is thus redundant. anything else like you suggest, lumping in any other game that regularly or possibly pays out 1:1, would be a ridiculous condition indeed.

Suspected as much myself, I reckon they actually mean betting on both outcomes as you describe like you can in roulette but that's already barred.
Thing is the last thing you want to do is assume anything cos they could still easily abuse that term, it's very amibigous and needs changed/clarified I think.

true enough. vc is a real guy though and is a real bookmaker and land-based. they are accredited on this site, and simmo! stands by them strongly. i had a completely fair experience there, apart from the software's propensity to fail and occasionally steal my bet on the dead hand, but i heard players who piped up about this were compensated accordingly and i believe it's since been upgraded to restore the disconnected hands properly. i sincerely believe they're equally vexed to see both the excluded games phrase and that even-money phrase in the same terms and it is surely nothing to worry about. i applaud your vigilance and patience to get it sorted, although i suspect many people who were less observant are playing normally right now and will be paid without incident. happy trails
