Colosseum changing TandC's after the fact

I signed up with Colosseum Casino on the 4th of October.

Their TandC's stated that for a $100 deposit I would get $100 bonus.
I could cash out if I played allowed games, had to wager deposit plus 5x bonus($600), had to cash out at least deposit plus 2x bonus($300).

I confimed with CS that these were the terms and also made a screenshot of the terms.

I followed all the requirements and turned $100 into $400 after wagering nearly $2000. Requested cashout and even got a confimation that it was going to be made.

Today I get an email stating that the cashout was being returned to to account for not meeting their NEW terms that require deposit plus 25x deposit being wagered.

Ive sent them an email with the screen shot and we will see what they say next week. I looked through the casino contacts for rep info and couldnt find one for this casino.

I have enjoyed playing in many casinos but am really get sick of all the shady nonsense that these guys pull. Even the guys that you can supposedly trust (ie Casinomester accredited) are not always being honorable.

T & C

Well, I have played here and the terms I had were the earlier ones you quoted. This will all rest on whether you deposited before the new terms were posted or afterwards.
Casinomeister takes a dim view of casinos that change terms after a deposit and then enforces said new terms on such old deposits. It will be necessary to prove that the old terms were current at the time of making the deposit.
Taking a screenshot helps, but is not absolute proof of the date in question. An independent means of verifying dates is needed.
If they are eCogra casinos a complaint to eCogra will probably be quicker (around 3 days), as all they will need to determine is what terms were present at the time of the deposit.
If you go through Bryan first, or post about it, eCogra may not mediate (they usually overlook a single post asking for advice, but not posts laying into the casino concerned).

So I get an email response this afternoon

"We regret to inform you that the Colosseum Casino Terms and Conditions
in regards to the welcome bonuses were changed at the end of July 2006
and the new rules have been on display on the Casino website since
then.

Should you have joined the Casino via a third party website, please
note that we are not held responsible if the information shown are not
correct."

What are they talking about? The screen shot and information
was from their site and was verified by customer service to be correct.

"You wagered so far $1,984.31 and need to wager at least $2,600.00 on
the allowed games."

Okay fine I went ahead and just wagered another $900 just to be through with them. Dont really like to prolong this through dispustes anymore. I will say that I am really sick and tired of the shadiness and lying that is pervasive in this business.

I am amazed that they dont make enough money on the house edge and have to resort to outright deception to stay in business. Seems like things have gotton a little crazier in the last week in a half since bill passed.

I have had 2 disputes over terms and conditons in the past 10 days when I only had 2 others in the nearly 10 years that I have been wagering online. Maybe I have just been real lucky so far and now its catching up with me:eek:

Oh my god they're trying to pull this stunt with me as well at their sister casino Floriditaclub.

I signed up on the 4th of October and the terms certainly said one times deposit and 5 times bonus.

It's total bull that they changed them at the end of July.

They have a rep on here called VegasVip Lounge that I'm pm'ing. You should try the same to see if that gets them to do the right thing.

Thanks for your story.

Im sorry that you are being given the shaft as well, but at least I see that Im not the only one.

Here is another funny excerpt from their email

"We kindly ask you to provide us the web link for the website where you
saw the old terms and conditions displayed for Colosseum Casino, so
that the latter can contact the parties involved as soon as possible."

It was your website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The link in my screenshot is the exact same address that they are keeping the current T and C with the 25 x requirement.
So Ill send you a link to your own site so that you may immediately contact yourselves about the issue:lolup:
You all can tell yourselves how you had the terms up on the 4th of October, changed them later, and then claim they were changed back in July. So you have had new terms for over 2 months yet your customer service agent isnt aware of them since she confirms the 5 x terms after reviewing them shortly after I called, I guess you guys forgot to give your reps the correct info.

Shameful guys, really shameful.

Since I already wagered the additional amount I just want to get paid and be done with them. Hopefully they dont find another bogus reason to not pay my monster win of about $250.

Fair enough, but I don't intend doing this extra wagering when I've already won on the terms I signed upto.

The rep has contacted me to say they are looking into it so hopefully it will get sorted.

Re Colo Complaint

Dear Raisethese

Please private message me your casino account number so I can look into your case.

Kind Regards

RE: Terms and Conditions Change

Dear All,

For the benefit of the contributors to this thread I will provide an update of the decisions reached and actions taken with reference to the cases of Raisethese and Dirk Diggler:

It was found that in the case of Raisethese, there had been an error made by the casino. Accordingly Raisethese has been reimbursed for the funds he lost whilst attempting to reach the terms and conditions that were wrongly applied to him.

In the case of Dirk Diggler, the casino does not believe that an error has been made. The Floridita Club Casino Terms and Conditions for the Bonus in question were changed on the 28th of July 2006. As Dirk Diggler has previously stated, his casino account was opened on the 4th of October 2006. On this basis the Casino believes that Dirk Diggler should meet the terms and conditions that were introduced on 28th of July 2006.

However, I have requested that if Dirk Diggler has any further information or evidence that he would like to submit which might corroborate his case, he should contact me via private message and I will notify the casino so that his case may be reviewed once more.

so you're suggesting the poster signed up played 5x wagering by coincidence, 3 days later saw the message about old terms and decided to try and pull a sharp one? Doubtful, very very doubtful

I really can't understand in the slightest how you can come to this conclusion. Both of us signed up on the same day (4th of October) and yet you accept that Raise These signed up to the 5x terms and conditions but don't accept that I did. :eek2:

Please explain how this is possible?

P.S I'l now pitch a bitch with Bryan as soon as he's back - this is total rogue behaviour.

EDIT - Tried Ecogra seing as Bryan is away.

Re: Dirk Diggler

Dear Dirk

I have private messaged you an explanation of why your case differs from Raisethese, namely that your case relates to floridita club casino, whilst his relates to colosseum casino. We can continue this exchange in the public forum or via private message depending upon your wishes.

No, lets do it in public.

Anyone with half a brain can see you're scamming me. Here's how I see it:

1) Two players signup on same day with two casino's in the same group with the same terms.

2) BOTH players are refused cashin being told terms changed at the end of July.

3) One player has screenshot and email from CS confirming terms. The other makes the stupid mistake of believing that he can trust an eCOGRA sealed casino to not retroactively change their terms and conditions and doesn't take screenshot.

4) Casino backs down with player one and pays him. Casino screws player two.

5) Playing community hopefully learns that these group of casinos aren't to be trusted as they'll happily change terms and conditions retroactively. If player one didn't have the screenshot and email from cs they'd also have been screwed.

To ANYONE - does anyone know if there's anyway I can find out when these guys changed the webpage in question? I've had a mess around with yahoo cache but it doesn't seem to have recorded any changes since 2004.

The webpage in question is

Re: Dirk Diggler

Thank you for posting those points. You make a good case for your view, and as I have suggested to you in our earlier private message correspondence, if you provide me with evidence supporting your case, then I will be more than happy to pass it on to the casino so that your case may be reviewed once more.

In addition to this respectful acknowledgement, I would like to make a few points:

1. In your previous post you made the claim that two players sign upwith two casinos in the same group with the same terms. I am sure that you can agree that casinos which are part of the same group do not always carry the same terms and conditions for their bonuses. For your consideration, the Vegas VIP Lounge has informed me that the Colosseum Casino was the only casino in the Vegas VIP Lounge Group that did not have its Sign Up Match Bonus changed to 25x in July 2006.
2. With reference to the emails that were sent by the casino, Raisethese was unfortunately misinformed by a member of our customer support services who mistakenly believed that the Colosseum Casino terms and conditions were the same as those in the other Vegas VIP Lounge Casinos.

3. I have been informed by the Vegas VIP Lounge that Raisetheses screenshot of the Colosseum Casino terms and conditions page was not a key factor in the decision that was reached in relation to his case. Rather, due to the fact that screenshots can be doctored via image manipulation software, the casino keeps records of the dates on which changes are made to its casino web pages. It was these records that allowed us to confirm that Raisetheses claims were both legitimate and correct.

4. Where the casino recognised that it had made an error with Riasethese, it took the necessary steps to reimburse him. If you provide definitive evidence demonstrating that the Floridita Club Casino has made an error in relation to your case, believe me, I will ensure that it will be passed on to relevant persons at the casino and your case will be looked into again.

5. If you would like to continue talking to me about these matters, you may wish to private message me at your convenience. If you choose to do so it may be of use to both of us if you can provide me with a full account of how you came to sign up with casino, for example whether it was through an affiliate or email letter with suggestions as to how you may have come to the conclusion that the terms and conditions at the Floridita Club Casino were 5x wager. I am sure you will agree that at times we all make mistakes, and the Floridita Club Casino is willing to keep an open mind should that be the case.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I hope it has been useful, informative, and has answered at least some of your earlier questions.

Feel free to private message should you wish to, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

The bottom line here is I know what terms and conditions I signed upto and those were the ones that I stated.

I am an experienced player and ALWAYS make sure to carefully read terms and conditions before signing up anywhere. My mistake here was thinking I wouldn't need to take a screenshot of the terms at a supposedly reputable eCOGRA sealed casino.

As per how I signed up, I did it after seeing you on the eCOGRA website - not sure if I used their link or not. Anyway the terms I read were on your site, not any affiliates.

BTW do you really think it's a coincidence that I believe I signed up to terms and conditions you claim changed months ago when the very similar issue RaiseThese had?

Also I know I couldn't possibly make the mistake of mistaking a 5x wagering requirement for a 25x. Mistaking something as hugely different as that is not something I'd EVER do.

Anyway I hope you're serious about helping me, and if so how do you intend on doing this? Why does this information you've asked for change anything?

Well what a surprise, eCOGRA finds in favour of the casino

I just hope everyone realises to keep the hell away from these lot.

Colosseum

Hi folks, from what I can recall, Colosseum did change their bonus t&Cs in July / Aug internally, not sure if they updated the site. Normally a good bunch when i worked for them 6 mths ago.
