Reputation Points
The User Reputation system allows board members to leave comments about one another's posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'.

On everyone's post, you will see a little "scale" icon. Reputation Click this and you can approve or disapprove another person's post. You can leave a comment (preferably) and view these comments in your user CP as well.

Why do we do this? This gives everyone in the forum a chance to give credit to well thought out posts, to show appreciation for a stupid-ass joke or a helpful tip, etc. It also gives everyone a chance to show criticism where criticism is due. And the more you participate, the more powerful your influence becomes.

How it works:

  • The reputation level new users receive upon registration: 10
  • Administrators and moderators (Simmo!, Vortran, and Casinomeister) can give or take away 15 points.
  • For the rest of the members, reputation altering powers can vary greatly.
  • For every 90 of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
  • For every 200 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
  • For every 200 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
  • When you "thank" a member, they receive 5 points.
  • If your account is suspended, you lose 5 points per day of reputation points.
Minimum Post Count: You must have a minimum of 15 posts before your reputation hits count on others.

Daily Reputation Clicks Limit: How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period? 15

There will be certain incentives offered to gain maximum participation. Some of these may include special permissions, private zones, free beer, and other cool things TBA.

POINTS ABUSE: If you are caught abusing the point system (conspiring to award points in concert with other members), your reputation giving capabilities will be suspended. Keep it real please.

For now, certain levels of membership may be achieved - each one enables differing capabilities. For instance, "Less than Zero" cannot search the forum, (you don't want to be one of them). Only Fully Registered members and above may have live URLs in their signature. This is only a couple of examples.

Less than Zero (less than zero reputation points)
Registered (0 - 49 reputation points)
Fully Registered (50 - 150 reputation points)
Senior Member (151 - 499 reputation points)
Meister Member (+500 reputation points)
