The User Reputation system allows board members to leave comments about one another's posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'reputation'. On everyone's post, you will see a little "scale" icon. Click this and you can approve or disapprove another person's post. You can leave a comment (preferably) and view these comments in your user CP as well. Why do we do this? This gives everyone in the forum a chance to give credit to well thought out posts, to show appreciation for a stupid-ass joke or a helpful tip, etc. It also gives everyone a chance to show criticism where criticism is due. And the more you participate, the more powerful your influence becomes. How it works:
Minimum Reputation Count: How much reputation must a user have before his reputation hits count on others? 10 Daily Reputation Clicks Limit: How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period? 15 How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again? 5 Reputation Levels
Incentives: There will be certain incentives offered to gain maximum participation. Some of these may include special permissions, private zones, free beer, and other cool things TBA. POINTS ABUSE: If you are caught abusing the point system (conspiring to award points in concert with other members), your reputation giving capabilities will be suspended. Keep it real please. For now, certain levels of membership may be achieved - each one enables differing capabilities. For instance, "Less than Zero" cannot search the forum, (you don't want to be one of them). Only Senior Members and above may have live URLs in their signature. This is only a couple of examples. Less than Zero (less than zero reputation points) Registered (0 - 49 reputation points) Fully Registered (50 - 150 reputation points) Senior Member (151 - 499 reputation points) Meister Member (+500 reputation points) Webmeisters (+150 reputation points) |
