Greetings fellow members. I am Vortran007, and I am programed to inform you of the following:

Welcome to the Meister's Award Zone. It is here that members may nominate postings that are deemed worthy of an award. The nominations will be ongoing, and there will be one top award given every fortnight. A fortnight is two weeks for those of you lacking standard intelligence.

The awardees will have $100 donated to their charity of choice listed here:

How this is done:

Choose from the postings listed throughout the fora, and you may vote for your favorite posts. You will notice a "nominate" icon on eligible topic sections. Members with adequate permissions can nominate their favorite topic by clicking on the award nomination button below the post. The topics with the most nominations during the course of the fortnight are displayed on this thread using the poll feature. At the end of the fortnight, the three topics with the most nominations are awarded the following:

1st Place: 50 reputation points and $100 donated to a charity of your choice. Fame and honor.
2nd Place: 20 reputation points. Fame and honor.
3rd Place: 10 reputation points. Honor.

Just to add to Vortran's announcement - all members can VOTE on the nominees, but only Senior Members and above can nominate posts. And only a total of nine posts can be nominated in this thread - this is something new, and there will be a few bugs to iron out. So please bear with us.

Our objective here is to award those who provide our community with good intelligent conversations. It's also a way to give back to those in need - the charities listed on the "Donate Now" page could use some action

Wow this is a really great and commendable idea. Just one suggestion: Is there any way we could "nominate" a charity to be added to the list? Just a thought!

Bryan, could you elaborate a bit on how the nominations work? I'm guessing that we can nominate a post, and then you go through the nominations and decide if it should be included or not in the group for that fortnight?

I did nominate one post, but it doesn't show up here....so I'm guessing that you have to make a decision if it belongs or not? Totally understandable if so....as I can imagine if it were just automatic, you'd end up with 100's of posts every couple of weeks for people to vote on.

The way it should work

Senior members and above can nominate a posting - this posting should then appear in the poll, then all members have a chance to vote on this. In x amount of days the poll is closed and the winner is announced.

I'm still tweaking this to get it to work right and we're flying in test pilot mode at the moment. The only way to fully test this is to use it - unlike some other plugins in the house

You say you "nominated" a post? I don't see it. Please try it again or just send me the link and I'll check it out.

Oh, BTW...the post itself shows as nominated, I mean I can see it. It just doesn't show up here. Not sure if I included that in the PM, lol. Getting old ya know.
