money dissapeared from my click2pay account

After having used click2pay for years without problems something really weird happenend today.
i haven't used my account for a while as I quit online gambling, but I was still waiting for a Club player withdrawel so I checked my click2pay account a few times a month.

Today I logged in again and saw I was paid 1000 dollar by Club player on the 6th of april, and on teh 18th of april that amount was tranfered to my debit card. Strange thing is though, i hadn't logged in for a month or so and this wasn't me!

I checked at the atm immediatly but the money wasn't on my card either. i rang them up but they're saying that I transfered the money to the card myself and took it out in Rotterdam and there's nothing they can do as this is my own responsibility.

They say I'm either lying or someone somehow managed to log into my account and used my card without my knowing of it, which is virtually impossible.

I asked them to check the ip adress of that particular login, but they say that even though they can check that, they won't tell me if it was my ip (privacy stuff) or not.

I really have no idea what is going on here, but with all the complaints about them lately I'm afraid they might have made a mistake, or even fraud...

has anyone else had similar problems with them like this?

This gets even more weird. They told me I could email them to have my account closed to prevent further abuse if I wanted to.
but I decided not to since my balance is empty anyway and I want to remain able to access my transaction history whilst trying to sort this out.

But now they just went along and locked my account anyway without notice

That's terrible Marj! and for them to act like they don't care is even worse . Hope they get this mess straightened out for you .

its simple now: you need a lawyer.
Its a german GmbH, you can find the 2 men you run the business. Go and get them.
They have made enough mistakes.
(NOT talking about the money disappearing).

Someone hacking your account online is a possibility, and transferring the money to the ATM card. But how in the world could someone have actually physically withdrawn the funds without the card itself?

Do you have anyone else in your household who has access to your computer and/or credit cards?

Click2Pay is not helping matters by refusing to tell you what the IP address was. But then Click2Pay has never been known to be very helpful at all.

Thanks for the replies! I am the only one with a debit card and apart from my boyfriend (who didn't do it

) No one even knows I have one.

I've thought about taking legal steps but I don't know what my chances are. With a "normal" credit card or bank I wouldn't have a chance in a case like this, but then again they are not as reliable. I think I'll try to find out if there are people with similar complaints first, and then try contacting my lawyer anyway.

It's likely that your card has been "cloned" at some stage. It is odd how they found out about the Click2Pay account though.

I cannot see what the "privacy" issue is, after all, this is YOUR account, and if Click2Pay are saying YOU made the transaction then they would only be releasing YOUR information. If they believe releasing the IP would invade another person's privacy they are more or less admitting your account was hacked, but want to cover this up by making it hard for you to investigate from your end while they choose to do nothing.
Legal action is the only recourse, and it is fortunate they are a German company, which will be subject to EU laws. There may well be a means to force full disclosure, and if Click2Pay are found to have made an error you can sue them for both the lost money and your legal costs.

One worrying possibility is that your PC itself has been compromised by either a keylogger or screen scraper trojan. This would certainly explain how both your Click2Pay account and debit card were used together despite you having your card with you.
The keylogger or scraper would have got all your card details except the PIN, and would have gathered everything needed to log into your Click2Pay account on a regular basis and wait for money to appear - it would then be a case of jumping in and getting it out before you even noticed.
If this was a Click2Pay debit card, access to the Click2Pay account would also provide all the information necessary to clone a card. This might even include the PIN, I do not know if, once in, Click2Pay allows you to view the card PIN in case you have forgotten it. This would be a really silly thing to allow, as it would provide a hacker quick and easy access to the funds once they had gained entry to any Click2Pay accounts.

It seems Click2Pay are making a lot of mistakes lately, so no wonder they make an easy target for fraudsters.

Make certain you do a full clean of your PC, reinstall the OS if necessary. If you find any malware, keep a record of what you found before removing it as this might help you argue a case.

thanks, the odd thing is though that according to them the money was pinned in Rotterdam (where I live) so that means if someone cloned my card and hacked my accound they also have to live in the same city as me.
They also say the money was pinned with the card right after it was transfered to it, but as far as I know it always takes around 12-24 hours for the money to appear on your card, so how would that be possible

I'm afraid legal action is indeed going to be the only way.

Hey Marjan, you're absolutely sure that your boyfriend wouldn't have done it right? I'm not trying to accuse anyone, I don't even know you guys, lol. But it's happened before. It even happened to Bryan (Casinomeister) last year. He had a friend staying with him who got access to his credit cards and gambled a fairly large sum away. Just once again proving that when it comes to money, you can't even trust friends and/or family sometimes. Sorry, that wasn't meant to offend you or anything....just a thought.
