Hey all you CM'ers

I'd love to know what attracts you to a certain online casino? I've signed up at a few, though none really wows me in terms of a first impression, other than Ikibu Casino I guess.

I'd love to know your thoughts on how you select playing at a certain online casino? Is is the games? The customer service? the payouts? The look and feel? The reputation? a combination of factors?

Cheers :)

For me a few things are important.
First of all I check the reputation of the casino online, can't get around that these days with all these rogue casino's. ;)
I would google the casino and of course these days I also use Casino Meister. A great place to retrieve information about many casino's.
Secondary I will check which games they offer as I have certain games that I absolutely love to play like WMS slots and the usual brands like Netent, MGS, Play n Go and Novomatic.
Also important to me is the speed of payouts when requesting a WD.
Lately I am very spoilt as most casino's I play at do pay from instant to only a few hours after WD request has been made.
I use Skrill, so monies are always available instantly after receiving them.

These 3 criteria mainly decide for me whether to play at a casino or not.

Have to be accredited here OR at least LOTS of positive feedback. maybe pending a BBF (Baptism by Fire, CM test to make sure all is good before awarding accreditation)

Has to have a fair SUB, don't mind a bit of wagering when shopping around for playtime but nothing above 40xB or pushing it a bit 25xD+B.

Must have more than a couple of slot providers, ideally Microgaming, Netent and WMS, Novomatic would be a nice addition also.

CS although lower down my 'must have' list need to have a decent level of knowledge and none of this 'One moment please..' Only to be kept hanging on nearer 20 minutes :(

Decent promotions are a must have, not expecting 100% or 75% reloads every deposit but show me something decent and I'll show you my gaming pot ;)

Loyalty!! - Once I start risking my deposits, the odd 'Out of the blue' little freebie is nice, doesn't have to be 100 Mega Spins on a 243 WW game, just the odd £5er or £10er, goes a long way to player retention. Rare but feel appreciated when they do pop up whether winning or losing that particular month.

Smooth slots - Yeah pushing my luck on this one but a casino where I log in once at the start and I close the games because I'm ready to change game, not because its rife with error messages and disconnections.

Man this post is getting long.....

No control over this one but a 'fair roll of the dice' noticed over the years without naming and shaming that some casinos give great game time most deposits, some mediocre and some just eat your cash instantly with constant dead spins, strange this doesn't balance itself out across all places but always the good stay good and the bad stay bad

Another good 'nice to have' is an approachable, helpful and active casino rep here on Casinomeister, Have a fair few of those at the places I play who have become good virtual 'friends' over the years, no special favours or expectations but a bit of banter now and then and there if I need them

Yes, I would have to agree that searching for information about the casino via Google is my first step too. CM is also a great place to find info and of course to ask questions. :)

I guess I look at the face value of the casino at first glance which is the reputation and backing. Licensing is also a big issue. There are a number of casinos I've found that operate under one main venture who spread themselves among various brands.

oh, I can't forget about withdrawals! this is a must to look out for in terms of processing times.

Thanks very much for your input lotusch :)

Wow, these are quite good factors to consider when selecting an online casino, I especially agree with the "Has to have a fair SUB, don't mind a bit of wagering when shopping around for playtime but nothing above 40xB or pushing it a bit 25xD+B."

Sifting through the bonus T&C's can be daunting but I guess it's a needed evil before putting any money down.

Thanks jonmincher :)

i must admit that this is quite annoying. What i hate most is the request for username, etc when I haven't signed, but merely doing a bit of research...It's like an endless loop.

bwahahaha  I'm not opening that door. I value my life, thanks.

The bonus round has a multiplier feature where you choose between judge Masipa, Adv Gerry Nell or Adv Roux. If you land on Judge Masipa she will give you a huge bonus despite you winning nothing. Nell will give you more on top and Roux will let you go home with nothing :D

The best experience is winning.
What you want to look for is a casino with good value bonuses/promotions and one that doesn't try to rob you.
Finding a casino with these qualities is pretty hard though.

I think all that other stuff: customer service, speed of withdrawal, etc. are pretty small compared to cold hard cash.

So true. Payout ratios play a huge factor. Do you think these are set by the software providers per game or are they structured per casino or both?

Both.

Payout ratios depend on the provider. As far as I'm aware all providers have the same payout ratio except for Real Time Gaming (RTG.)
That's why I would avoid RTG, you just don't know what the payout ratios are.

Cool, so these ratios are calculated based on averages by bodies such as eCogra and so forth?
No, the payout ratios or RTP are based on the games themselves. Each slot will have a different RTP.

eCogra are something different entirely. They act as arbiters in case of a dispute and also they check the fairness of the RNGs.
As arbiters I have found them to be hard to deal with; needlessly asking for information.

I am not a regular user of Casino. And don't go there always to play as well. However, if you tell me which casino games I have love then of course Poker. This one attracts me very much. I love it. hehe!

I told this story in the baptism thread already, but again: Chancehill positively surprised me by arbitrating and paying up after I accidentally broke their terms. Granted I thought the terms I broke were kind of silly, but I broke them nevertheless. I wasn't trying to cheat and the casino agreed that it wasn't malicious, so instead of just plain wiping me out and saving a 1,5k euros, they were fair and deducted the sum that was aboutish the amount that interfered with the rules.

Has to be accredited. Never have and never will play at one that isnt. If I ever win 1 million dollars I want t be be paid.

Will not play at a casino that has a shady past of any sorts. Will not play at a casino who uses their terms to try and wiggle out of paying players.

Right now the two casinos im playing at takes a bit to verify and send money. I dont really like that. It seem stallish to me but im running really hot so wont leave.

For me is all about how I'm treated as a customer.

I don't care about bonuses or sending me free spins, I want to know I'm valued if I lose a lot.

Betsafe and CasinoEuro will always give me something if I lose and their support is great.

I also had a brilliant experience at Trada. Their CS is top notch and the most important thing is that they listen on here. Rachel is very much involved. That stands out.

When Finn was a VIP rep @ whitebet he was exceptional. Sadly, when he left things went downhill.

Trada also worth a special mention. Unsolicited "no strings" kick backs after some bad sessions. I only wish they would do something with their lack of "fast spin" functionality which ultimately put me off become a more regular customer.
