Hey all :)

It's been killing me to not say anything right away, but I am thrilled to confirm that the winner of the £5.88 MILLION jackpot was playing at Butlers Bingo!! Press release below:

ButlersBingo.com Pay Out £5.88m in Biggest Win Ever for an Online Bingo Player

On Sunday, 9th December 2012, ButlersBingo.com, the online bingo website, paid out a record-breaking £5,883,044.43 progressive jackpot win to a customer after he played an online slot game from the Microgaming powered Progressive Jackpot Network, featured on the ButlersBingo.com website.

The winner, John O. from Long Sutton in Lincolnshire, is married with three children. He had only been playing on the site for a few days when he placed his 30p bet on the popular online slot game on Sunday afternoon.

When contacted by Butlers Bingo, John O. said: “I’ve only been a player here for a few days so I’m still in shock and I can’t believe my good fortune. And all from a 30p spin! I had planned to buy my daughter a new iPad for Christmas, now I can buy her a new house instead.”

Ian O’Farrell, Head of Promotions at ButlersBingo.com, said: “ButlersBingo.com, part of the Microgaming Bingo Network, is thrilled to be a record-breaker and pay out the biggest online bingo win ever. We cannot wait to deposit £5,883,044.43 into John’s bank account! With over 200 casino games and dozens of jackpots to choose from, anyone could be the next big winner.”

I met the lucky winner earlier today with a giant novelty cheque, and could not have asked for more deserving winners. Definately the feel good story of the year for me. I cant stop smiling and all I did was hand over the cheque :)

I was on the phone when I saw the PR come in - but you beat me to it :p

Congrats! And especially to the lucky winner - that's a life changing win. Imagine all the cheese you could buy...

Now noone can play at your place and complain that it's not possible to win there anymore.

Great story Ian. I can see that smile on your face:p
...and of course a huge congrats to the winner:thumbsup:

On a 30p bet? damn, that must have been a billions to one shot. I cant even get the 9 quid one on a 30p bet.

Congrats to the winner. You guys need to sort out your PR though as the Blackjack Ballroom people have worked it so that half the internet is reporting that it was won at their casino.

Notice they are trying to claim it without coming out and stating that it was won at their casino.

I agree - that's the way the Casino Rewards press release presented it.as a Blackjack Ballroom triumph...with no info on the player I might add.

Thanks for the accurate version IanO.

Lol thats real crafty by Casino Rewards. They ARE trying to mislead the reader that it was Won at CR.... however subtly.

If I read correctly the Jackpot was won on the Dark Knight and NOT Mega Moolah.... Although the Dark Knight is part of the Mega Moolah network of progressives the Article is not accurate in any sense.

I just got an email from svenskbonus.com (swedish bonus site) where it said that the Dark Knight Jackpot of 5,883044 £ was won on Spin Palace Casino.??

How come its so much confusion about at what casino the jackpot was won? :what:

That's pretty awesome considering Dark Knight hasn't been out long. Great news for IanO, well done to ButlersBingo, bet your hoping he plays a bit back into the site ;)

A lovely couple indeed. It was so nice to meet them and from the sounds of it they're enjoying the current media whirlwind around them which is great. We just finished a live Radio interview on the BBC and other papers and stations have been calling all morning.

I'm glad he changed his mind about that nice 'second hand' jag he had his eye on. Looks like the sun got him down to the dealership and convinced him a brand new one was in order :)

Its so good that he won and has had no problems getting his money unlike other places bullshitting there way out! Thankyou!

Still slightly misleading PR though ?

I read this at the Sun article, and IanO has also said " pay out the biggest online bingo win ever."

But this was NOT a bingo win, it was casino ?

I just think that that could/should be made clearer

Just my 2p

Lol I was just about to post about this. I actually got picture on my phone from earlier today at work in my lunch time.
What a joke that article was all wrong. Biggest Bingo win ever ehhh what?? :what:

Oh but just to put it right. In one way it is correct. As it is a Bingo place. And so because won there its the biggest win at a bingo site :)
BUT article is very wrong in the way it is worded....

Yeah, I was a bit confused by that as well. I had been very clear, and they even asked me which slot game he was playing and if they could have some screen shots. :what: Then they mis quoted me slightly and decided not to mention the specific game at all. Strange, but sadly not much we can do about it now. :(

For the record and in case there is any confusion, it was most definately a slot win.
