Anyone plans to join?
Tickets are 200.- each and the (paid) feeders are already running.

If I understand it right, the final will be on TSII and the top prize is 2.400.000.-:eek:

I'm just baffled that there is hardly any advertising for it.
Compared to the previous GSOS, which was hyped like crazy, this one is so far covered in almost complete silence.

Or is it just silence before the storm breaks loose?

Personally, I wont join unless I win a free ticket, like last year.:D

So was I.

It starts tomorrow, and so far I have had only ONE email about it, and from a casino I haven't played at in YEARS.

Fortune Lounge also advertise it in the lobby under "My promotions".

I would expect other casinos to start advertising it, but so far the only clue comes when you view the tournaments, and see the feeders.

The only GUARANTEED first prize is 100,000 but there is mention of $2,400,000 worth of gold bullion to be won. Also, the prizes are supposed to increase the more people buy in, which makes it even MORE surprising that there is almost NO advertising, as surely they would WANT people flocking in so that the prizes increase, thus drawing even MORE people in.

Last time, I was awarded 3 free entries to the final from where I am VIP, and didn't have to play a feeder, nor buy a ticket. I also remember that right at the end the tickets to the final were being sold off at half price, and even when it was over, there were STILL about 2000 places unfilled - and US players could play then!

With no US players allowed THIS time, the field might be much smaller, yet the prizes seem BIGGER.
This suggests that we were ROYALLY screwed over the last time, because the prizes did NOT increase as more players bought in.

I reckon youll be hearing a fair bit more about it tbh. Tuesday it kicks off Im told.

Well me too. If I get one then I would join. As you have said, there's barely an advertisement about it, but there were news about it. How many have joined this year?

I received an email about the event yesterday from GoWild

It doesn't look like very many casinos are participating this time around, that may be why we're not hearing much about it.

As an affiliate I was only given decent info about it yesterday, the same day the feeders started.

The special prize of $2.43M in gold goes to the first person to complete the TS2 paytable achievements during the final. Not sure how easy that will be with a maximum of 58 minutes, or 645 max bet spins.

I didn't see anything about the $200 per ticket, everything I read stated that it was not open, and that you have to qualify via a feeder or win a ticket some other way.

Yes, didn't read good enough, LOL, all the achievements in just 645 spins?
Now that must be one hell of a session, 5 scatters, 5 wilds, 5x Thor and all the rest, and ofcourse 3 and 4 times too..:eek2:

A 5 reel wildstorm is ALOT more likely to happen...

I wonder if all the freespinsoptions are already unlocked in tourneymode.

Filling all of the TS2 achivements at $200 addons?
So this is really just the grand slam of addons and rebuys.

I've only seen it advertised at All Slots but have played both the Thunderstruck (ranked 1??th) and Tomb Raider (ranked 29th) feeders at 32red. Thing is with the rebuys and continues, I've already spent £100 aprrox. Now i'm hearing tickets can be bought for £200 and last time they went half price???

Can anyone clarify if tickets will actually go on sale or if they have to be won or given to you. Also I read of a user having multiple tickets for for the fisrt Grand Slam of Slots, can you use multiple entries? Surely its done by alias?

As for unlocking the whole paytable in such a short time, I'm speechless. I mean some of us have been waiting for those bloody 5 scatter and 5 Thunderstucks for months, almost a year even. How can they predict this? or will there be some alterations in the programming to allow a higher rate of win sequences? Surely that goes against the so call "randomness" of slots???

I'm intrigued

I already have my ticket. Some casinos, like before, are giving them out to their top VIP players. Last time, I ended up with 4, and they can all be used.

The alias problem was sorted by MGS implementing a "fudge", so that players can now have a different alias for each MGS casino, rather than one alias over all MGS casinos as before the first Grand Slam.

Many players have multiple aliases now, since this "tweak" was never undone, and now players can create an alias every time they open a new MGS account, and take part multiple times in ANY tournament, and quite within the rules.

As for the $2,400,000 prize for making all the achievements, it is not SUPPOSED to get won, and MGS know that it is highly unlikely that they will end up paying out. They have probably insured against the risk of having to pay this prize out, and the premium has already been factored into the cost of running the event. This means that in the unlikely event that this prize is netted, the player will get paid, and no operator, nor MGS, will have to eat an unexpected expense.

No doubt, pursuit of this achievement prize will encourage players to purchase more addons and rebuys, which is the intent, as the more this happens, the greater the profit made from the event.

VWM, can you help me out here ? In the rules for the qualifiers/freerolls they all say you can't have more than one ticket...

What you are saying is that if you use a different alias it's no problem and you can play them both (or more) ?

BTW i think the 5 continues max at $20 is very reasonable. Rebuys is still 999 at $20,

It's one ticket per player per casino, but you can have a different alias in each casino, a rule that was brought in before the last Grand Slam, and never repealed when it was over. The rule extends to ALL tournaments, not just Grand Slam.

I think it says if you rebuy, your acheivements get reset every time, so you have to get all of them in 1 buy in.

This makes it almost impossible given the limited amount of play possible in one buy-in. This is how they can offer $2.43 Million, they are unlikely to have a winner.
In normal play, they are NOT reset, so eventually you CAN make them all if you deposit and play for long enough. If they did not reset in the Grand Slam, there would have been an argument for using all 999 rebuys and all continues in order to chase the achievements prize.

It is not even possible to practice on other Thunderstruck II tournaments, since this is the first one using this game that I have seen so far.

Has anyone ever made all the achievements in normal play?

Ok, lets see what we've got now that we're coming close.:D

Players get 58.500 coins and 18 minutes of playtime to start with.
Spinning at max.bet (300 coins) this equals 195 spins.

Then you can do 5 continues, which will give you 27.000 coins each, which equals 90 more spins, x5 makes another 450 spins.

So the total amount of spins at max. bet you can make per try is 645 to complete the entire paytable.:eek2:

BUT.. will you be able to work through all your coins in the given time?
I dont think so.
You'll get only 18 minutes for the first 195 spins, which means that you'll have to make 10.85 (say 11) spins per minute to clear them all.
If the game plays at the same ehm, 'speed' (haha) as Thunderstruck 1 you can be happy if you can reach half of that.

And there are wildstorms and freespinrounds that take time.

No, I think its safe to say that the chances of completing all achievements are equal to zero.
