    unionjackpots

    Anyone played there yet?
I seem to remember them asking for advice on here quite a while ago.
The paragragh below from the t and c,s is a little off putting, I am not sure if any credit card company will refund if a gaming site goes bust

We do not recommend you play on xwww.unionjackpots.com unless you are using a credit or debit card that insures your funds in the case of unionjackpots.com Limited going into receivership, insolvency or liquidation. Please check with your debit or credit card provider to ensure that your funds are protected and insured before you use your credit or debit card on this site. It is the responsibility of the player to ensure that this is in place before any games are played or cash deposited into their account.

    Just a quick warning
Thought I would have a look at the games just out of interest, but
downloading the windows installer gave a virus alert

I have tested this as far as initial registration, but I received no activation email, and the unofficial "rep" has not responded to my PM about this.

Initial registration ONLY requires an email address and that you create a password, no other personal information is needed at this stage. If you can then activate the account, you can try the games for free.

Only when you play for real do you have to fully register with your personal information. They are licensed by the UK gambling Commission (I have checked this, UK Gambling Commission lists them as being licensed).

The ONLY issue is that the address registered with the UK Gambling Commission is different from the company address listed on the website. This is common in the industry, and in this case may be down to how the UK gambling Commission work. Licenses are issued to operators, rather than "maildrop" offices, and the other address DOES match with the general location of the founders (Glasgow - Scotland).

The term about credit cards is unusually HONEST, and is normally the kind of advice you might get from a consumer protection organisation rather than a business trying to lure you in.

The advice might be outdated though, since many card issuers have redefined gambling transactions as "fee free cash advances" rather than purchases. This reduces the level of protection under the consumer credit act (so they think), but it only needs a test case telling the card companies they cannot remove a statutory protection from customers to change things back.

In the past, card companies tried adding a term that did NOT cover transactions abroad under the consumer credit act, and a test case told them they could not do this, and the protection was reinstated.

Card companies might pull out of the online gambling market altogether because of the risk. I have NEVER managed to get a Mastercard to work for gambling, and it seems ONLY UK based gambling sites are allowed with Mastercards, not the foreign based ones. My Barclaycard has worked at ALL online casinos, and with almost no trouble so far, AND the transactions still count as purchases.

It should be a false positive. This from their FAQ

    4. Oops, my anti virus software doesn't like you?
We don't take it personally, and we know you sometimes get what we call a false positive. Rest assured, the download is virus free and if you adjust your settings you should be okay to download. We always let the software companies know when this happens and they adjust accordingly in updates and patches, it just sometimes takes time. No, you're not infected, well, not with our software anyway.

They have avery limited number of games at the moment but I was considering giving them a try since they are licensed by the UKGC but then I read this, also in the FAQ.

    3. What is the pay out on fruits?
Far higher than any land based real ones. The payout is set over the lifetime of the machine but it doesn't mean if you put £1 in you get 80p back every time. You are as capable of winning more than 80% as the next person and inevitably some will win and some will lose over time.

What I inferred from that was that the payout is set at 80% (otherwise why pick that figure?)
If it is then that would extremely low even for land based let alone remote.

I have emailed them for clarification and will update here when I receive a reply.

It also implies they are not random, but work just like the land based fruities. 80% is NOT particularly attractive ONLINE, given that the norm is between 90% and 95%, and EXPECTATION is 95%.

At 80%, your money will vanish faster than an RTG casino deposit

Yes it does but IMO that is true of all software I have played to date. (the no memory of past results is a complete myth for me since all the slots I have played are weighted)
Also if this is the case it brings up the old chestnut of whether you are playing against yourself

Absolutely, let's see what they have to say.

Very true and you would need a small miracle to win.

Here is the reply I received in regards to the 80% RTP for anyone interested in the site.

This is the absolute minimum these machines will pay out. Although this figure is accurate, please bear in mind that many other sites set their life cycles over much longer periods than ours. So while they may advertise a higher pay out, it is over a greater length and may not actually pay this amount out for many months. So while the headline figure looks higher, it is more important as to when this figure is actually paid.

We hope this helps and believe our life cycles and pay out offer a great gaming experience.

I actually found their answer to be refreshingly honest and they look to be a trustworthy site but 80% is very tight.
