Can't get Fiddler to capture traffic from RTG flash casinos

In the past, I've used the IE add-on Fiddler to capture HTTPS traffic from MG flash games without any problems. Sometimes I like to collect stats from my playing sessions this way. For example, you can record how frequently a certain reel position came up in a slots game.

But when I try to use Fiddler capture traffic from RTG flash games, I don't get anything.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

I have never heard of that software before but that just shows how ignorant I am on that side of things.
How is the data/traffic set out so that you can see how many times a specific reel position has appeared?
To what extent can you "fiddle" with traffic?
Sounds perfect for collecting data for analysis, is that what you are using it for?
I know that flash has not long been updated to a new version and as far as I know (guessing) Casino software using flash has been recently upgraded.
Could it be anything to do with that?

What is Fiddler?

Fiddler is a HTTP Debugging Proxy which logs all HTTP traffic between your computer and the Internet. Fiddler allows you to inspect all HTTP Traffic, set breakpoints, and "fiddle" with incoming or outgoing data. Fiddler includes a powerful event-based scripting subsystem, and can be extended using any .NET language.

For example, this is what shows up in Fiddler when I'm playing a 3-reel slot game for an MG flash casino:

The lower right hand pane is a record of the text that's sent to my browser after one spin. Where is says "reelPos=3,9,1", that corresponds to the actual symbols showing up on the center payline. (You can easily figure out what symbols those numbers match up with by watching a few spins.)

Like I said, I can't get this traffic at all when I'm playing an RTG flash game, and I can't understand why.

That is easy to understand but would take a fair bit of manual effort to gather the results.
Would be great if you had a way of organising the way the information is presented.
For eg a 5 reel slot would show the reel positions info in 5 columns, that would make it easy to see any obvious anomalies.
Could be very useful for figuring reel layout though.

Sorry I can not help but if you really need to know I know someone who probably can.

The advice he gave me was to check if the site was HTTPs which means secured as opposed to just http.
It is obviously used in banking and we get the padlock symbol but apparently it is being used more and more by other sites.

Thanks. I don't think that's the main issue though, because MG flash games are HTTPs and Fiddler seems to work in that case.

It's not quite as tedious as you think. When you've collected enough results, you can copy all the captured traffic to the clipboard, paste it into Excel and get the specific information you want to a separate set of columns using the 'Text to Columns' command.

If it won't capture traffic, what about using a 'screen recorder' program, then step through frame by frame to document the reel layouts?

It'll be a little bit more manual labor, but that should work

Okay, there's another free program, called Wireshark, which is indeed able to capture traffic from RTG flash casinos. With a little effort, I think I should be able to figure out the reel layout for slots games using this.
