Pandamonium - Features explained

Thought I’d suss out Ladbrokes newest slot! (Don’t know if any other MG’s have this yet…?)

This is the closest yet to a real pub fruity that I have seen online!
Most features are there, and it has great heavy guitar sounds that Bryan will love!
I especially like that any win takes you to the feature board.

But it also has the most annoying aspect of Pub fruities – features with meaningless names so you don’t know what they do. I HATE that!

So I tried it in demo mode to find out, and here you are:-

Head Banger
Spin in a win.

Smells like teen Panda
Skill stop on prize ladder – hit the highest win.

Maximum Overdrive
Random stop on prize ladder – then repeat chance! (See screenie)

Eat, Shoot & Leave
Various awards flash (2-4 at a time) – hit best you can.

Turn It Up
3 different valued prizes are hidden and moved around quickly. Follow and pick best one.

Bamboozled
Reels all step together – skill stop on best win.

Mosh Pit
Pick a flashing reel, then best symbol on the reel for 3-of-a-kind win.

Rock Out!
Pick-a-win feature. You’ll be shown a series of reel wins. Pick the best.

Hot For Panda
Win series, played out on the reels.

Eye Of The Panda
This pays the jackpot (2000 x bet) with a repeat chance.

I am a bit concerned that the demo mode might be way more generous than real money play – I had good wins on literally the first 5-6 spins I played. But it might be like that in real play – some of the other ‘pub fruities’ certainly have winning streaks on them.

The best win I had was from the ‘Maximum Overdrive’ feature – I hit the x50 & it repeated SIX times! This gave me £350 from a £1 spin! (See below).

Anyway, I’m now off to try it with real money for the first time ever – I’ll report back soon!

I checked this out the other day (wasn't Ladbrokes though - probably 32red) and it seemed ok. Look fwd to your "real mode" results though I suspect being MG that fun mode and real mode ARE the same myself

Well, as I expected real play is nothing like the demo!

To start with I was getting LOADS of features - but they all paid pathetic amounts.
It's very rare to get more than 10x your bet.
And when it dies - it really dies; 20-30 spins of nothing.
I guess you have to expect this - it's got to take in quite a bit to pay the large jackpot.
Overall, I'd say this is very much like the other ones - play for a little while and if nothing's happening - leave quick!

Okay, so being that I'm not from the UK and all, I apparently have NO FRIGGING CLUE how to play this thing. What's the point? Do you just keep spinning and losing? Is the payout around 2% or what?

I was able to figure out that the numbers on the symbols correspond to how many places you move on the 1-2-3-Star-5-6-7 thing. Sometimes it will say "Trail Held" after a spin, at which point you can spin again, and be guaranteed that the subsequent spin will be of no help and that your progress towards the Star will be reset.

If you actually make it to the Star, the words will spin at the top until you click the Stop button. At which point you will probably get the Stoppa "feature" (and I use the term "feature" EXTREMELY loosely). This "feature" randomly lights up big wins until you click the Stop button, at which point the 5, 6 or 7 lights up in the 1-2-3-Star-5-6-7 thing, and you win absolutely nothing.

Or if you somehow manage to make it to the Wheel of Torture you get to either keep spinning or collect your gigantic prize of 1.00 or 2.00 credits. Sometimes - if you're REALLY lucky - the wheel will land on the Mystery "prize" which apparently has two possible outcomes when you click the Stop button:

1) You land on "LOSE", or

2) You land on "CONTINUE" and then it will start blinking YES and NO, and when you click Stop again you see that it selected "NO"

Either way, you win nothing.

Am I missing something here? Was it stupid to blow 100 credits on this "game" with the anticipation that something, ANYTHING might have actually happened? Like maybe a WIN here or there?

Can some kindly Brit please explain what the secret is to this "game"? I cannot be the only non-Brit who has no idea how to play these fruity things so I think other forum members would find a brief tutorial rather useful.

Thanks in advance!!

LOL - I can see why you are frustrated SlotsJunkie.

Yes, these 3 reeled slots are meant to resemble (how we normally refer to slots in the UK) fruit machines!

VWM is probably the expert to give you a much better detailed explanation than most, however I will try.

The whole idea of a fruit machine with a feature board such as Pandamonium is to climb the FEATURE, NUDGE or CASH trail on the feature board, but firstly you need to get there. Theoretically the higher up the feature trail you are the better the feature you will hit. Nearly the same for the nudges feature - obviously the more nudges you have, the more chance you have of nudging in a higher win. The cash trail is self explanatory.

On the front screen you have what is normally referred to as the FEATURE ENTRY TRAIL which is 1 2 3 BONUS STAR(4) 5 6 7, as well as the 3 reels. There are numbers attached to some of the symbols on the reels. So to get into the feature you need to hit a value of 8 or higher with these symbols. If you hit say 3, the feature entry may hold (TRAIL HELD) for the next spin, therefore on the next spin you will need 5 or more to enter the feature round. If TRAIL HELD is not lit, the trail has not held and the feature trail will reset to 0. If you hit the bonus star (which is 4 and this applies to most fruit machines in the UK - i.e. the bonus on the feature entry trail is normally 4 even on B&M fruit machines) you have a further chance of adding numbers to the trail with an additional feature such as BOOST or STOPPA.

However, you can also enter the feature board with a 3 symboled win such as 3 cherries or 3 guitars and so on.

So there are 2 ways to enter the feature board.

Once you are there then you need to climb as high as possible on either the FEATURE trail, the NUDGES trail or the CASH (which is normally referred to as CASHPOT, but is not displayed as a trail but an actual amount) trail.

Now the theory on most UK fruit machines is NEVER to collect the lower features, but to keep trying for the highest feature as eventually you will hit it. But, this theory does not seem to work on the online version. I could be wrong (VWM????), but you could play this slot for hours, never collect the lower features and you still will not hit a higher feature. This wouldn't really apply to a B&M fruit machine as eventually the machine would want to pay and will therefore let you go all the way to the highest feature to claim the jackpot.

As for the MYSTERY feature, well this is just an additional feature to either ADD to the trails or BUST OUT. Most of the time you will bust out, but if the machine is playing well you will hit MULTI-ADD (add to ALL trails) or add to FEATURES or NUDGES or CASHPOT and so on.

See KK's previous post in this thread to decipher all the features.

Personally, I think anything 20x your stake or more (on the NUDGE trail, FEATURE trail or CASHPOT) is worth collecting.

Finally, you have to get a feel for the machine to see if it's buzzing. A buzzing machine will normally give you a lot of wins and a lot of feature entries. If you are not experiencing this, then the machine is usually not playing well and you should leave it well alone.

Further to Cheeky's post, what you have to know about these slots is that they are exactly like UK pub fruities - they are totally NOT RANDOM in the way USA slots are!

i.e. Where the reels stop is not random.
If the feature holds is not random.
How many nudges you get is not random.
The 'random stop' is not random.
When you spin the feature wheel (1-12) the outcome is not random.

The software decides the moment you hit spin if you will win or not. All the spinning wheels, flashing lights & funky sounds are just to entertain you!
The only random thing with them is if you happen to be lucky enough to be playing when it randomly decides that it's going to pay out big!

A good example the other day; I was playing Cash 'n' Curry when it went on a 'winning streak' and I made over £350 in 10 minutes playing only 20p & 25p spins!

So it's swings & roundabouts… Oooo! A good name for a new slot!

Thank you guys for your insight and advice!!

I do have a question about the Nudge and Feature trails when you are at the Wheel feature. I have made it to 4 nudges but that doesn't win anything. When you have three or four features lit up on the Feature Trail, and you try to Collect them, then it blinks between the cashpot and the features - what happens here? If it "lands" on the feature do you get all three (or four or however many you have lit up) or do you only get the highest one that is lit up?

Anyway... I just got home so I will be trying it out again tonight to see what happens.

Thanks again!
