    ID - Potential Problem???

Having played poker online well over a year and casino for about 3 months, i haven't had to submit ID yet anywhere. Still, that day will come, so i prepared a jpeg with my driver's license and utility bill the other day. I then became aware of a potential problem to which, frankly, i had never given a moment's thought:

My Gov't ID (passport and driver's license) show my official first name. Anything else (bank accounts, all credit cards, all bills, neteller, all online registrations) show my nickname. I don't like my official first name and only use it if i really must. It's a bit like William/Bill except that my official first name isn't very common. My driver's license also show a zip code that is no longer valid since meanwhile the Gov't issued new zip codes and changed mine from xxxx6 to xxxx9. So, two potential problems that a picky casino, looking for excuses to delay payment of a withdrawal, might make a fuss about. The info on the utility bill conforms 100% with neteller and casino registrations.

This week i registered at a new casino and for the first time i noticed that it says that the first name should conform with Gov't ID. I tried to register my nickname followed by my official first name in parenthesis. It immediately gave the error message that it should have only alpha characters. So, i registered with nickname again in order to conform to info at neteller.

Am i just making a big deal out of nothing? If not, any suggestions you can give me?

If this were my problem, I would ensure that my photo ID, Neteller account and utility bill are all exactly the same (unless, of course, my given first name was just plain offensive, at which time I would go for a legal name change).

    Good luck.

Ditto on that Suze. I had a casino one time make a very big deal out of my id having a different street [ same town ] than what I had registered . I did get paid however it took an extra week or so. I would get my I's dotted if possible BEFORE there is a hassle .

No, my official first name is not offensive but i'm just not used to seeing it much. Certainly would be odd to see it on all that email you get from casinos and pokerrooms.

I could see a potential problem with the street being different from the one registered. Just in case a casino decides to pay by check (even though your preferred payment method is something like neteller).

Anyway, i discussed this last night with Neteller and got transferred to their Security dept. Their advice was to keep on registering as i have done thus far. If i were to change the first name to my official one in future registrations, it will be out of sync with my neteller acct. However, if i could not resolve this with a casino, i could request Neteller's PR dept to intervene since Neteller has done a social security match when i set up an acct with them.

Furthermore, with many MG casinos, you also have to give a driver's license number and last four digits of the soc security number. All that info matches (except the nickname) with registration. I also have property tax bills issued to my nick name, i.e. a Gov't issued document, albeit not picture id.

To test this, i'll try to make a smallish withdrawal from a site that request ID for all withdrawals and see what happens.

Having recently had problems cashing out due to ID problems I really dont like your chances if the details dont match especially at certain MG casinos.

I doubt this would be a problem with crypto's pin security system. Otherwise I would do one of two things. Either get the relevant ID with whatever name you want on it, if this has to be your real name then so be it or be up front with the casino and make sure you will be able to cash in before making a deposit.

That's a great idea Man . My address was different at that time as I had moved 2 months before my birthday and didn't want to renew only to have to renew again right away and as it happened I was lucky enough to have a cashout . Like I said though I did get paid it just took a little extra time .

You can hide the last 4 digits of your SSN,
i have asked this from many casino.

And i don't have any problem with my registration details,
even i need to convert scandinavian letters (ÄÖÅ/äöå) to corresponding letters without dots.

Last Wednesday I cashed out $150 at Nostalgia [ deposited with Click2pay ] and this morning I got an email telling me they wanted ID for antifraud . Sending it tomorrow but I don't see why when a casino wants ID it takes an email from me asking where my cashout is 5 days later for them to ask for ID .
