Two burning M1s morning of day three of the ground offensive. My guys and I were about 50 meters from where the first one got hit. We had pulled back to this position and watched them burn for a while.
This the aftermath of a tank battle that night - it was pretty intense. This was the 1st Division which lost two Abrahms (shown) and a Bradley. We (Delta Co. 9th Engrs.) were attached to the scouts and were the first combat vehicles to roll across the desert into the minefields at the beginning of the three day ground offensive.
Buy me a beer sometime and I'll tell you more about it.
