Tax Rebate

President George Bush said each one of us would get a $600.00 tax rebate. It was previously slated to be $800.00, but they dropped it to a $600.00 tax rebate because of various budget problems.

Now, if we spend that money at Wal-Mart; all the money will go to China, if we spend it on computers, most of the money will go to Korea or India. If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Middle East

.....and none of these scenarios will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America .....so the
only way to keep that money here at home is to drink beer,
gamble, or spend it on prostitution. Currently it seems that
these are the only businesses still left in the U.S.

Get this though....a little known fact about this 'rebate'..

When it all boils down, those that MAKE MORE MONEY will get a bigger benefit, NOT the other way around.

Take for instance if you have a $0 tax liability (after deductions) - you get $300. That's it. $600 if married filing jointly.

If you have > $0 tax liability, you get BETWEEN $300 and $600; a % of your income after deductions. Up to $1200 if married filing jointly.

Where's the logic in that? Shouldn't more money go to the people that need it the most?

... is exactly the way it should be since I was actually one of those folks that also paid more into the system than the other's that did not make quite as much,,, and as such did not pay as much into the system...

Who's to say that just because I maybe made a few dollars more than the bloke down the street and I also paid more into the system than he did does not mean that I don't need it just as much as he does...remember,, everything is relative ya know...:D
