Hello,

Anyone knows a good tutorial to build audience and promote online affiliate program in the gaming industry?
- Something to start from scratch
- No money, without budget involved
- How and the best ways to promote
- create audience, create articles, create something to be able to promote
- best practices and ways to start

Thank you!
Regards!

If you aren't a website developer then my advice would be to start using Wordpress and pick a niche you understand. IE: if you play a lot of video poker then start there because you will be able to speak authoratatively.

And don't promote any casino - by all means write up your honest opinions on the casinos you play because the bottom line is, none of them are perfect and most players will prefer to make an informed decision. To do that, they need to know the pros and cons...not just the pros! There are 000's of sites out there that tell them the pros...and most of those are - putting it kindly - exagerating :D

If you write about places you haven't experienced you will find it hard to keep your audience coming back. Writing about those you have experience of will it help you differentiate yourself and most people prefer to listen to someone speaking from experience rather than simply selling to them anyway.

Hope that helps as a starting point. Good luck

Without any traffic, you'll just be talking to yourself. Like Simmo mentioned, learn Wordpress (or something like this) and start writing articles focused on a niche: a specific type of audience that share a common interest i.e. gay marriage casinos, protecting one's privacy, casino travel logs, etc. Once you find something you care and know something about, it becomes a lot easier. If it's a small niche, people will find you.

New to me, should there have been a comma?
If not please point me to one as i would love to check their promo's!

My advice, although i am pretty new to the affiliate side of the Casino Industry, would be similar to what Simmo and CM have pointed out.
Go with what you know, or like best: if you start with wordpress, and start to generate traffic, or get comments from people on your first article, the feedback alone could mean a learning curve for you, and as such improve any future articles.

Do a lot of research, on what you are about to release, because the printing of false info will most likely ensure the people with serious interest in your blog to remain a one time visitor.

Also make sure that if you use certain texts, you picked up somewhere, to quote the source and add a disclaimer, or ask permission from the source in the first place.

Best thing is original content anyway.

Make sure you are sincere, and if you are going to promote Casinos, be sure to pick the best ones, based on both personal experience and research.

Promoting affiliate programs is a complicated matter, i suggest that you first become an affiliate yourself, and after some years of experience you can genuinely promote the programs you have tested.

I assume you are talking Casino affiliate programs, since you posted it here:)

I'm totally serious. The US supreme court has given the go-ahead for states to legalize same sex marriages, and I believe the Queen has done the same for the UK. There's nothing like a Vegas wedding - and I'm betting there will be a domino effect world-wide. Now would be the time to put together a guide to show where it's ok and where it's not.

Looks like this could be law before the summer is out, unless those who oppose it can find a big enough spanner with which to foul the mechanism within the next week or two.

No disrespect of course, it just seemed funny, when you put it like that;

What you mean is blogging an article for gay people to show where they can marry, or rather specific which casinos offer a wedding chapel where gay people are also "allowed" to marry?

I suppose there's is use for that info, but i suspect the niche might be rather small..

On the other hand, as a first project it would seem a good platform to try out .. assuming you have affinity with the subject.

Yes, thank you, it is a good starting point.

I also share that the worpress it's a good platform and for free.
I have some skill as a website developer, but, i think, it's not enough to create articles, generate traffic and audience.
I think that it's not a easy job.

And the examples for the niche, "gay marriage casinos" is always a hot subject...
"protecting one's privacy" - big subject because of NSA.

The thing is that we can find a lots of info in google search, but it is so many information that i don't feel confortable to follow them. When i do, i start wondering if it is the right path. And then i never know if it is a good plan, or if it is a good approach, and everything goes down.
And, of course, everything has it's price.

Persistence, trial and error, more persistence... content comes over time - not in one breath, so does experience.

Stick with it, don't let it"all go down" because of one doubt. With enough research information has a way of clearing itself out.

Just stick with it and go slow is my advice, don't take any short cuts.

IMO the best way to start is by a domain and a cheap hosting plan, download wordpress and set up a site and blog. Blog about what you know, the games you play, your experiences and what you enjoy. Make it fun and add some humour even...get people enjoying it. That process will probably start to give you ideas about what area to focus on, what a site should look like and which casinos you play at and want to recommend.

You don't have to just do one site. Many affiliates have several sites - it also helps spread yor eggs around different baskets - so start with that and then expand :)

It is a lot of work (I do about 12-14 hours a day including playing, er, I mean research) but done right, it can be rewarding.

Never really thought about using a search engine to find good deals in regards to online Casinos or B&M deals which would better yield results if I added keywords about my sexual orientation, my favourite book, my current solvency status or current preferred TV series of choice. And then magically find a website run by an individual who was infused by their thoughts initially in June 2008 with no subsequent content thereafter with a comments field of “No comments” be the first to comment.

but done right, it can be rewarding.

This is what i'm looking for... do something right (for a change) and be rewarded...

Persistence, trial and error, more persistence...

Persistence... I still have.
But for the "trial and error"... I'm a bit tired...and i don't see other way.

And I have to thank you all...
The truth is that I'm again motivated.
I'm taking every reply into consideration.

I hope that everyone continue to share their point of view, or to share something that can be usefull...
I believe that a common issue for all newbies or for the ones that are without guidance and need a push...

including playing, er, I mean research

thanks and good researchs!

from a player's point of view, be really honest about your reviews. The casinos won't mind a bit of negative comments (if true) but the players will thank you for it! Also, keep bonus info updated. I've gone to a few casinos because of the advertised bonus on an affiliate page only to find out they had a whole other set of promos
