Thumbs up Really cool proggy for testing php locally

If your programming in php you'll probably agree that setting up a local testing server on your xp box can be a real painful experience. Notably the easiest way is to just grab an old PC and fit that up with apache, php and mySQL and network.

In the past I've uploaded everything to my host and just made a test folder and developed this way, but it lends itself to being unsecured, especially if your connection goes down.

Well I've tried things like BadBlue and other but you still really need an understanding of how things work to get it set-up properly.

I got handed this proggy last week and it's the best thing since sliced bread.

It's called PHPTriad, http://sourceforge.net/projects/phptriad it's free and installs php, apache and mySQL onto a XP or a Win box without any dramas or the need to configure php.ini files and so on.

I've been using it now for a week, once I pointed the root path to Dreamweaver its made life so easy that I don't know how I lived without it this long.

If your in or find yourself in need of setting up a local testing environment for php this is definitely a
