So many thanks Wayne!
I'm quite excited, guess it's time to read all the rules!
In reply to VWM`s questions regarding no lag when the idol game is won, it`s another server (flash player related probably), when this happens you are not receiving data from other players etc, the main cause of any slow reaction server lag is high player population, especially if the data sent to and forth involves activities you are all participating in, if you want a good example of this play multi player wheel of wealth![]()
Dip me in chocolate, and throw me to the lesbians.
The only multiplayer data is the live scoreboard, and this ONLY updates when you have a win (so it seems). The bonus round should be delivered as a single packet containing the 3 results for whatever idols being picked, so once this has arrived and delivered the first two results, I don't see why there is any lag in simply revealing the third, nor any need to send for another data packet until the player has the final result and returns to the game. It rather looks like a client side coding error, where these two processes occur out of sequence, thus holding up the reveal of the third idol whilst the client awaits the updated scoreboard.
If the server has too many players on it to function effectively, this is down to MGS not getting kit that is up to the task of running multi-player environments (cost cutting at the players' expense). The fact that other multi-player games suffer similar problems shows that this IS an MGS issue with their multi-player environments, rather than OUR machines or ISPs.
It is NOT good that a mere 1500 players can bring the GSOS server to it's knees![]()
