My father has one account he used only with FL and he is also getting spam from various (no name) casinos now. This isn't something random because he only used that email address for FL, and he noted it on paper.

Even if FL removed you from the list they have the damage has been done. Now, his email address has been passed on to various spammers and there is nothing to be done about that.

This is a serious issue (again) that needs to be dealt with. What information is being passed on to third parties, and to what extent.

Casinos always state they never do this, however they cannot be believed, as the patterns of spamming are suggesting that it is mostly Email addresses that have previously been registered at an online casino are being targeted.
If this was unrelated to leaked personal details, casino related spam would behave in the same manner as other spam, such as falling in equal proportion into all mature Email addresses.

Other than to hit back hard at the companies paying the spammers, there is little else players can do. In the case of casinos, the spammers are DIRECTLY rewarded by their affiliate payments. It is the reluctance of some casinos to deny these payments that fuels the ever increasing tide of spam. There also seems nothing to stop spamming affiliates simply from opening another affiliate account when they get shut down. This is in stark contrast to the multilayered security measures seemingly in place to prevent PLAYERS from opening multiple accounts if they get a name for themselves as an "advantage player".
Players have to send in ID details and jump through hoops to get paid, the details supplied by affiliates are accepted at face value, and no active monitoring of their activity takes place. Only when there are a large number of very public complaints exposing the lack of action do casinos seem to take half hearted measures to shut down the spammers, such as "talking to them".

SPAM

A genuine mailer to encourage a player to reopen a dormant account will address them by name, and give them a reminder of their account login number (not password, but this could be reset on request).

Spammers try to trick the receiver into thinking this is a genuine account they once had, but had completely forgotten about. Invariably, the "come back offer" will be exactly the same as the new player offer.

If this is a rogue casino (is it RTG?), they are likely to be sending out their own spam, hoping to fool people. When these people contact support to get a reminder of their long lost details, they will be told to just open a new account, because the old one has been wiped from the system. Thus they have tricked another unsuspecting punter into opening a new account.
