You aint been robbed. I know of no reputable casino that would allow a person to deposit using someone else s card. And requesting a letter to show permission is worthless. As anyone could write such a letter. You should never have used another persons card no matter if they give permission or not. What casino is this ? But i think ... You wont see a penny move on and learn a lesson from this.

There is something in most casino's terms and conditions about only using e wallets and credit cards in your name.

I know of a few who do and have had no problem paying out to it either.

Way back before I had my own Bank Account, I was forced to use either my Brother in laws Card, or my Mum's, and never ran into a problem. (In fact I have used it a few hours ago as I have no funds in my own account at the minute).

At the end of the day, he's still using his own funds.

If they don't return his initial deposit, then yes, he's been robbed.

However, I believe that will be returned provided it's an accredited casino.

But to the OP, it is better in the long run to take the necessary steps to open your own bank account so you don't run into any of these problems in the future

The OP states in his post that the casino requested his partner's documents along with a letter giving permission. I would imagine that one of those documents needed to include a signature that could be matched up to the letter of permission, otherwise, as you correctly state, anyone could write such a letter.

The following is not related to the OP's complaint, just a general observation. I don't know the ins and outs of using a credit card registered to another person, but I can certainly foresee problems in the future if permission was withdrawn, but the card continued being used. Who would then be liable? This could be a major reason as to why cross-use of a credit card is not allowed, as it could lead to chargebacks from the legitimate owner of the card.

Well I would be surprised if any accredited casino here would allow a person to deposit using someone elses debit or credit card. I in my own business would never allow this.

I would strongly advise against seeing this as something that is acceptable .... I could be wrong - but I know I would never ever let anyone else use my card family or not. But hey thats just me

Which casinos do you know who allow players to use someone elses cards ? Just curious .... as to which brands allow this ?

I will PM you, as I see no reason to "Dish the dirt" on the Casino.

I honestly don't see what the problem with using someone else's card is; especially if it's a relatives and the Surname matches up.

I mean it's hardly an issue of fraud if it's a relatives; although I don't know the law on the matter.

well if they do this then it must be legal so its not dishing out dirt ... and they should be quite open about this.
So not sure what there is to hide if it is a common practice for casinos accredited or not ?

And actually using someone elses card especially to deposit for a casino I think does border on fraud ...

Lets say Casino A .... allows this

then a person uses a family members card with there verbal consent (which is all it would be) then the person who made the deposit looses the plot and deposits 100s or 1000s
and the card owner then decides to change there mind. They could in effect either issue charge backs or claim fraudulent use ... which is exactly the reason that any casino
with half a brain would never allow or condone such practices. Even the Banks here in the UK tell us time and again NEVER give your card or details to anyone.

Thanks Deeplay.

I never even took into account the fact that someone with no control could do this.

Safe to say it is better for the casino to nip this in the bud before any real damage is done.

EDITED: Because I'm stupid.

The casino in question is vegas palms there not gonna return my deposit or release my winnings, they lead me on for a week beliving i was goint to receive it iv got 4 kids $590 is alot of money to be expexting then not recive.

Jackpotcity and spin palace will allow you to use some one elses card with approval.

Some casinos use softwere that has your name in the credit card bit that cant be changed so you cant use another card aapart from your own.

Can any one advise me of who i can contact to try rreceive my winnings apart from the casino

This issue keeps arising, and it might be because it IS actually possible, and perfectly acceptable, to pay other bills with cards that do not belong to the owner of that account. I occasionally do this for my niece, and so far no company has refused the money even though I log into her account and pay the bill using my card. Electric, water, council, Tesco, are all perfectly happy with this, they don't worry one bit that she might have stolen my card and used it without my knowledge.

This everyday life experience is going to teach newbies that this is "no big deal", so will ask their partner for permission, and if they say yes, will not see the problem. Naturally, this means that this is in no way "illegal", or these other companies would be banned from allowing it.

With casinos, there seems to be a lack of consistency, some WILL let a partner's card be used so long as permission has been obtained, and the partner is prepared to let the player send their documents to the casino along with their own.

Even in this case, the casino doesn't know it's arse from it's elbow, because at first they said it was OK so long as the partner's documents were sent, and then when they had gotten the partner's personal data they did a U turn and said "no". At best, this is "data fishing", they have tricked the OP into providing a set of personal data for their partner on the pretext that doing so would get them paid. If they were not going to pay under these circumstances, they should have said so. The partner may have a case against them over the trickery used in getting their personal data. It would depend on what the data protection laws are in their country.

Instead of burying this in the novel that is the general terms and conditions, it should be prominently displayed in casino banking that the instrument being registered as a deposit method MUST be in the player's name, and that this WILL be checked, and failing this check WILL result in all bets being void and the account being closed. This should be an industry wide standard policy so that players don't get fooled by hearing about exceptions to the rule from others who routinely use their partner's card at the casino without issue.
Better still, this should be checked at the time of processing the card payment, with a name and/or address mismatch leading to a decline.

I suspect this does not happen because it would cost the casinos in lost revenue because many players share as a couple, and if casinos stuck rigidly to this rule, they would only ever be able to recruit the one adult per household, with the others being forced to play at their competitors. There will be many cases where the casino WOULD be OK with a couple sharing an account and cards, and such a bold warning in the banking page would put them off from even trying, even though the casino may well be OK with it.
