It's high time this issue was properly addressed.

yet AGAIN I have managed to play the first few spins of a tournament for which I paid €10 (Network tournament, entered via 32Red lobby), and suddenly the tournament server went down. It is important to note that this has NOTHING TO DO WITH MY INTERNET CONNECTION as I am able to log into the casino and navigate around the lobby.

In this case, I am €10 down because I would need to be able to get back in within 5 minutes otherwise my time will run out. This happens SO often when playing their 20K fortnightly "freeroll", but at least here I am not out any money because I can just carry on from where I left off a while later.

In the Viper lobby, clicking on the tournament simply gets no response, it's not acting as a link. Going via the Flash lobby does respond to clicking on the link and the tournament window opens up, but the download bar does not even start moving. It has been stuck like this for several minutes.

Just to add before support refers me to my ISP or talks about cookies - IT'S NOT MY INTERNET - IT'S YOUR SERVER!!!!!!!!!!

This is the exact problem that I had with the Gold factory freeroll, last Wednesday I had a spin that wouldn't stop, so I closed the window and went to re open the tournament and nothing... clicking on the tournament on the viper client wouldn't open into a new window, both the new browser and old browser version would start to load the tournament and then stop.

The tournament was running with no problems according to Microgaming, but after explaining to the helpful people at 32red that It had nothing to do with my end and letting them log onto my account they then passed the problem onto Microgaming to sort out.

This though did take until the Friday afternoon before Microgaming sorted the problem for me.

Microgaming has good games, but it doesn't seem like they give a rats ass about their customers. And the casinos seems to be perfectly happy with that. It is sad to say, but I find it really hard to think of any businesses where you get worse customer service than in this business. Maybe Crooked Joes used car dealership or so.

It's the reason I stopped playing their freerolls. On download client pre-update it would take two attempts to load a game, as the viper client would always crash, especially the 9-liners.

After the update, I though they might have fixed these glaring issues. Alas, no. The games will not even load at all now, so I can't be arsed.

Freeroll or not, address the bugs or just scrap the whole thing. Where's the sense in continually frustrating players when a patch could sort this out, just like with any other type of software in 2016

Vinyl mate, you need to modernize! Start playing slots again instead of those daft Viper tournaments.

Viper is shit.
Viper clogs your drive up with 10-20 gigs of shit.
95% of the MG games are clones/shit.
Half the time (as you say) it stalls so is shit.
Yes, in the bad old days when I had a 32dead account I had the same issues with links to tourneys not working or working only randomly. Shit.
I also noticed the green bar at the bottom of the loading game (when it actually tried to open it from tourney list) would often stall right at the end, which was shit.

If casinos were cars, Viper would be the Austin All-aggro (Allegro).

Agree with every part of Dunover's post above

With Immortal Romance the only game I play from MG, it's no surprise that NetEnt are growing year on year across Europe.

Looks like they did nothing, just waited for it to sort itself out which usually happens if you leave it a couple of hours. It would help if Microgaming would actually say what the problem was/is, and how it will be sorted out. I can't imagine it's due to overload given how many people have abandoned these tournaments, which is actually what makes them worth playing because fewer players means more chance of being at the top and in profit.

This issue has always afflicted the 20K tournament, but in this only continues can be bought, and there is enough time per continue to finish off a half played continue a couple of hours later as well as the newly bought one. It's different for rebuy tournaments, as if the server freezes, you cannot go back and carry on from where you left off, you have to rebuy, and there is little point in buying a continue until you know the full outcome of the first go, which needs to have a big enough hit to make it worth going for the continues.

Maybe they have overcomplicated things in the way they set these up, and created many points of failure as a result. Players already have to remotely access the tournaments via a second hop from the casino server rather than being able to connect direct to the tournaments, and it seems to be this second hop that is failing, hence I can log into the casino server, play lobby games, yet can't connect to the tournaments.

Since it also doesn't work from the Flash lobby, which goes via a different route, the "gameassists" domain, it very much seems to be that the tournament server itself has stopped responding to anything related to the tournaments hosted on it, and it does this frequently and regardless of load.

LMAO ^^ My old man had one of those, same bloody colour too!

Moaned about it for months after buying it, well until he could afford to upgrade n get rid.

Upgraded to a Ford Cortina, best Car I ever drove :p

Yes, and that's it in the photo. :p:p Lucky it had just had a service otherwise you'd have never got back from that picnic in that field.

This was happening years ago - when USA could still play MG! I was never, ever able to finish a tournament regardless of whether it was free or paid - particularly maddening when you're in the lead and get booted. It was so bad I quit signing up and playing them altogether. I thought surely they would have taken care of this problem by now.

It looks like a permanent fault has been triggered, although they now respond to clicking on the link in the Viper lobby, they never load, the new window opens, the load bar goes all the way, but the game itself never appears. This is an old fault that bedevilled the tournaments a while ago, and which after a fair bit of pressure via 32Red, Microgaming eventually managed to fix. It seems they have now unfixed it again.

If it is the same problem, the tournaments might still work in Windows XP or from the browser Flash lobby. It's also possible that removing Flash completely will get them working, although the Viper client will throw a wobbly if there is no Flash installed. Last time, I also discovered that they would load from the popup message, but not from clicking in the tournament listings.

If this fault is widespread, a fair few players will find they are unable to play the tournaments since the middle of yesterday, which will clear the field of competition for those that find a workaround.
