First deposit bonus

This is my first post here, sorry it's a question.

On a first deposit, is it the norm to have to enter a code to get the first deposit bonus?

I just joined a casino (listed in accrededited casino's) deposited $20 as it said you get a 200% first deposit bonus.
Started to play but after I had played about a fiver or so still hadn't got the $40 bonus.
Checked there promotions page and found the code but it wouldn't work.

Contacted them through chat and they said I couldn't have it now as should of used the code before I started playing! I didn't know this as the casino's I have joined in the past have just added the first deposit bonus automatically.

Is this the norm now as I feel quite let down by this.

Hi there

Yes, it is quite normal that you need to enter a code for certain bonuses. This is usually very well pointed out in the terms and conditions for the bonus.

Although I must say it sounds a bit strange that they did not manually credit your welcome bonus. Not the best way to treat a new customer in my opinion. They could have given you some goodwill since you are new to this casino. Maybe you could send a private message to their rep.

The rule is - there is no rule! Some casinos do require the player to claim the bonus, some do not - even casinos on the same software can have different requirements.
Another reason why it's important to always read the bonus T&Cs carefully before depositing & playing at ANY casino.

They did send me an email after I said I wouldn't deposit again with a free $7 thing but it's not the same as $40 so won't even reinstal it again.

I could understand if I had spent all my deposit but had only spent a bit before I realised and found I had to enter a code.

I do read the terms normally but but only scan through for wagering requirements and if accept my debit card type and so on, I just assumed the bonus would be put on automatically like the other few I have joined.

My bad really for wondering away from my normal casino's I play. well lesson learned lol


How do I find out the rep and do you think he would reall be able to help?

oo Can't seem to find there rep in the list even though they are in the Accredited list unless i'm going blind lol

Does it meen they are not as accredited as the others in the list as they have no little medals after there logo, and no rep or anything?

Sorry new to this site so not sure what is what yet

Just to add to the good advice above, It's not even a rule that goes Casino by Casino.

For example, we have our standards offers for new players that are applied automatically, but a deal we have with a handfull of our affiliates requires players to enter a voucher code on the registration page in order to redeem a special bonus. (this is all carefully explained in an e-mail they are sent, plus in the T's and C's)

If a player forgets to or is not aware of the need for the code we would go back and apply it manually, assuming they did not try to rerdeem some other offer from a different affiliate at the same time, so it's certainly a good idea to ping their rep here and see if they can help. Hope it works out for you.

Given that they credited you with $7 I would guess the casino is Slotocash which is powered by both Rival and Realtimne Gaming. If its the latter as long as you still havent started playing you can still enter the code after depositing and still get the bonus.

If this isnt slotocash you can send a pm (private message) to the rep here and ask for an explanation.

Well to be truthfull, this is the first time I have really had a bad experience with a casino as normally stick to the same ones/group so didn't know any other to put.
Maybe being to honest and having that won't do me no good this time round but you never know my view might get changed yet and I will remove it lol

Glad it worked out for you. Frankly Ms Sloto wouldnt believe you are a fraudster/bonus abuser as you only deposited $20. A miser maybe but def not a fraudster.
