Seems as if there has been a big drop off in participation in threads and even the winner's screenshots thread is quieter than usual. Is it because it's Spring time here in the US and people are outside enjoying the fresh air? Or maybe the economic worries have people concerned and they are spending less on entertainment or maybe everyone is just feeling a little burnt out with some of the recent not pleasant issues that have been going on here in the forum.

Playing poker for the factor - PART 2

Today was football day. Sitting in listening to the game.

I decided to do a little freerolling poker.

I decided to play an SNG using up 70 loyalty points. Winner got the $10+$1 ticket for the $100k tournament tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be footy & beer day, so I decided to break up the ticket and use it for other games.

I entered a $2 multi table & won another $10+$1 ticket for the $100k...not bad:)

I entered a $5 5 card draw SNG. Won that for about $19.

Currently sitting with $16 & $11 tourney tickets & playing in 2 Omaha Hi/Low tournaments.

The target is still $80 to clear the factors bill. It's still a long shot but not bad when I consider I started with 70 measly player points.

Had a game of 2-7 lowball. Never really got into my stride so that was $11 down the drain

Currently playing an Omaha Hi/Low multi tourney. Sitting quite comfortable so I'll make the payout barring disaster. Hoping to at least make the final table.

Made the payout but missed the final table. Went quite deep though so brought my tally up to $40.

I used this to play on the 5 card stud ring game tables for a while.

Got up to $79, so close to my cashout target. Blasted it all on the one hand when I got involved with a higher full house. That just proves that bankroll management is a must when playing ring games.

Ah well. I've decided to stop playing poker for a bit. Too time consuming. I could sit playing all day & get nothing else done.

Unexpected factor bill today. The roof and the security door needs repairing.

I need to win $80 today so I have entered a HORSE tournament to start off my day.

Im on the first lap. We are around to H.O.R.S. Sitting comfortable 11th of 28. Top 4 make the money.

To be continued...

Sitting at the Break 22nd of 23. The wheels on the bus are falling off. I'm hanging in but cashing seems unlikely.

.......

Disaster. Had the lead both for high & low hand all the way until the river card came out. My low hand paired off and someone stole the xhigh with a straight. 5 way pot. Awe well. I'll need to use real money to pay the factor.

Finished 22nd

Forum Observations

I've been catching up on the forum posts this afternoon. As I'm sure everyone knows, Lojo is gone for good. It's a shame in a way because when he was behaving himself he was a valuable contributor but when he was being bad.....well it was very bad.

Again and again we have players writing posts and giving examples of really shoddy customer service and confusing bonus terms. Slow payouts....lots of complaints about that lately and can't say I blame anyone for getting very frustrated with that. Yes the reps should be proactive here and come on and make a statement about what is going on before players do post after post about the issue. From the sounds of it, it sounds like this processor stuff is pretty top secret, thanks to the UIGEA act. Has anyone besides me ever wondered about these processors? Are they in some 3rd world country in a dark back room with CC machines lined up, processing the transactions. Who are we trusting our info to? Do the casino's even know who the processors are and if they can be trusted??

On the other hand we have players who come on and make complaints about not getting their winning. One particular thread has been standing out in the last few days involving a large payout from a Rival casino. This is my view on that. I don't recall ever reading a complaint regarding someone NOT getting their payout from a Rival, so I was thinking....ummm now wait a minute, there is something else going on here that perhaps we aren't privy to. For some reason Rival has a issue with this player. You know.....so often we the players are really quick to take another players side without knowing all the facts and I was thinking while reading the thread that perhaps everyone should just stand back for a while and let it play out and see what happens. I'm not saying that there is something not on the up and up but I can't help but wonder. Oh and Nifty made a great post on that thread about just that.
If the player is due his winnings and doesn't get them, then I'll be one of the first to make a statement as to the unfairness of it, but for now, lets stand back and wait and see what happens.

Oh......and I don't want to bust balls here but I get tired of reading posts about how I've lost XXX amount of dollars and I don't know why I'm still throwing money in XXX place. Well you know what............. if it's sucking you that dry, why are you doing it time after time?? If it is truly is that bad for you maybe you should seriously consider taking a break from it all for a while. Yeah I know.....everyone is entitled to whine every once in a while, but on and on again and again about the same thing.......give me a break or better yet give yourself a break from it.

PS.......Jet....if you like my blog, leave it right here, would you?:poke:

 Everyone.

To blogg or not to blogg.

To blog or not that is the question.

Well i guess im not the ordinary blogger.
Why well let's put it in this way.
We are around 7 billion people on this planet and at least 3 billions have internet.
So then is my question how many people are going to find my blogg in the outer rim of the internet?

And do i really want to spill out the guts of my life?
And who is intrested in that anyway?
I think alot of people are, couse in the time of today when television seems only to broadcast those real life shows, like big brother and whatever the names are.
Well i guess people have alot more time on their hands than they admit.

And gossip seems to be at an extreme popular level.
And frankly i dont get it, people are writing what they do all day long in their life, and is that so intresting? And why do i need to know what Mr Frank James ate for dinner? Or what fashion are the most popular at the moment?

Are ouer own life so unitresting that we need to read what all others do all day long? Well mylife ait booring at all, so i guess thats why i will never becomme one of the bloggers.

And still dont we have more important things to use the medum for? Is Frankie boy more important than any other news of cathastophy that is going on around in the world? I dont think so i rather read about starvation and such news, and then donate some money to help those out. I dont think Frankie boy has those problems.

Just to make a statement i read a blog yesterday actually about a 17 year old male, and what was going on in his life.
That was the most obscure reading i ever done i think. I dont care if he's horny on a certain chick in the class. And i dont want to know why he tought his turd looked like Bush this Saturday morning.

I know there are also alot of good bloggs out there that informs us of dangers and what is going on.

I know for a fact a friend of mine who was a peace soldier in Afghanisan, wrote intresting facts about the culture and what was going on in the country and explained why there was such horror going on.

But still 99.9% of all the blogs on the internet are crap. Infact i think atleast 70% of the internet today is junk.
Do we really need it all.
Why do we need to have so much information about usseless stuff all the time?

And yeat there are some really good sites out there also. like the Meister
good information and mostly nice people.
And thats why i keep hanging here.

So the question remains are you really hat intrested whats going on in my life, that i should start blogging about it and spill it all out.
Or should i just sit down and ignore this so called blogg era that is going on.

Well thats my 2 cents anyway.

Just for the HORSE practice im going to start keeping a record of my single table tournament rotational game.

Today 5th May 2008

*1) Holdem
2) Omaha Hi/lo
3) Razz
4) Stud
5) Eights or Better (stud Hi/Low)
6) Horse

*
All single table tournaments with 8-9 players depending on the game. Today I will be playing on the $10+1 tables at FT. With only a $50 deposit, Im going to have to cash in at least one of the first 4 games I have entered to complete the session.

As I type I have just been crippled in my Omaha Hi/lo game with an unlucky river card. 2/3rd of my chipstack gone.

Lost out on the *Holdem* game first, *6th*. Didnt really deserve much better, played a bit like a donk, staying in a hand when I should have folded. Never really made an impact in the game. Holdem is probably where I need most improvement.

*Omaha Hi/lo*, had a pretty unlucky start. Pulled my way back into it after being shortstack from the start. *Finished 2nd for £27*. A bit unlucky ending but thats usually the case for everyone apart from the winner.

Since FT is predominantly a US player based site, and Im playing in the UK day time, none of the other table have been filling up, so I think I'll stop here and go back to finishing the session later tonight.......

Next to fill - The *HORSE* table. Played OK, got to the final 2 players. The blinds where getting high. Had to take a few chances. Never got the cards when I needed them. *Finished 2nd for $24*.

On to the *Razz* game. Disaster, finished *4th* in the Bubble position. I felt a bit squeezed out of the game. I kept getting multiway calls and never carried the hands to the river.

Razz seems to be the less competitive game of them all. Im generally in with the best hands but you just cant account for the cards pairing off. Disappointing.

*Stud High *- Finished on the bubble again for *4th.*Utter crap. The exact situation as the Razz game. Sitting comfortably into the last four. Chipleader allows the other 2 into the game. I take a hit & end up out the money. This is how online poker can be so frustrating.

I gave up waiting for the *Stud Hi/low* game to start. The tables will probably start filling up quicker now but it's 2am UK time now and I cant be bothered playing. I have a feeling I would have finished 4th. I feel my luck deserted me after the last 2 games.

On to the Razz game. Disaster, finished 4th in the Bubble position. I felt a bit squeezed out of the game. I kept getting multiway calls and never carried the hands to the river.

Razz seems to be the less competitive game of them all. Im generally in with the best hands but you just cant account for the cards pairing off. Disappointing.

Stud High - Finished on the bubble again for 4th.Utter crap. The exact situation as the Razz game. Sitting comfortably into the last four. Chipleader allows the other 2 into the game. I take a hit & end up out the money. This is how online poker can be so frustrating.

I gave up waiting for the Stud Hi/low game to start. The tables will probably start filling up quicker now but it's 2am UK time now and I cant be bothered playing. I have a feeling I would have finished 4th. I feel my luck deserted me after the last 2 games.

I'm in the middle of Julian Jaynes "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind."

It's roughly a theory on how ancient man (up to about 5000 years ago) had brains split more or less in two. Their consciousness (right side) was an audible "voice" in their heads - as opposed to ours, which is a silent dialogue. Thus they were commanded by the voice of the "gods". And this is why most ancient beliefs/religions include the gods speaking and experiencing visions.

Since then, our minds have fused together, thus we don't hear the gods speak (as loud as we used to), and we don't see them either.

Fascinating stuff.
