My main computer, the one I use to work and to play, the one that's zooming fast with lots of RAM and tons of space and that my monitor is perfectly calibrated for, is in the hospital with heatsink issues.

I had to take it to the shop and leave it there for a bloody week - 4 days just sitting there and 2 days on the bench. BUSINESS days.

I think no problem, I've got my old laptop, I'll use that. I think I'll just hook up to my external drive, pop out the stuff I was ...

So I'm a member of Deviant Art, and I logged in a week or so ago and had a notification that they're running a contest with Fotolia. The contest is called, "One Cat, One Fruit, One Clock" and the rules are like this - they supply you with 3 photos of cats, 3 photos of fruit, and 3 photos of clocks. You're supposed to pick one of each and try to come up with a design or illustration or something that incorporates the three things.

Between some pain and stress in my life the last few weeks, I've been having trouble sleeping. When I do finally manage to sleep it's been difficult to stay asleep. When I'm awake I'm so tired I can't get anything accomplished, so yesterday I spoke to my doctor. He gave me some prescription sleeping pills, and yesterday I tried one for the first time.

I'm one of those people who can't sleep when there's a light on in the room - or a radio playing - a fly buzzing in the house next ...

As most of you are aware, I play a lot of tournaments. As those of you who play tournaments are aware, it's actually kind of boring. So while I'm clicking the button (or waiting for the infernal reels to stop spinning) I notice other player's screen names as I pass them or as they pass me and I wonder about the people and why they chose those names.
