Last night with Frank Zappa

Well, it was almost like being with him. I had a chance to catch Sheik Yerbouti - a German F. Zappa cover band at the Colos Saal here in Aschaffenburg.
What was amazing was that Napoleon Murphy Brock accompanied them - which gave them a truly authentic sound. I saw Zappa in '77 twice - once at Winterland in SF, and then again at the Stanford Auditorium at Stanford U. I was having some cool flash backs.
And they played all my favorite songs! Yay!
The awkward thing was - I had to go alone. We had no baby-sitter, and the guys that I usually go out with were all busy with work travels or family things.
So there I was by my lonesome. But it was cool, during intermission I just pulled out cell phone and pretended to text - eliminating any "loner dude" moment.
There were about 200 people there - I counted about 5 under 30s. The rest old guys like me
