Rantings of a Young Gambler #2
We arrived at Turning Stone around noonish, and decided to gamble before checking into our room. I brought with me $300 (I generally play between 40c and $1, but even only taking $300 was optomistic).
I was murdered my first few games, $20, $20, $20... nothing, nothing, nothing. So I sat down at my nemesis, Stinkin' Rich (100 lines, 1c/line.. $1 a spin). I always.. ALWAYS get killed on this slot. But the God must have been lookin' out for me. I quickly grabbed the 35 free spins and then retriggered for an addional 25. I was crusing with a good bonus of about $100, when up pops $208 on one spin. I ended up cashing $350 and was quickly up about $275.
Things kept getting better for me. I came into my first experience with "Hot Hot Pennies" and man is that addictive. I quickly learned they do NOT pay when the machiens are empty, but when packed they give massive amounts of bonuses. In my first session I picked up about $100, leaving me up around $340 after the first few hours of play.
We checked in at 3, then headed back down for another session.
I got killed on Super Jackpot Party, Merlin's Ring Quest, and some other games I had never played before. However I cashed out a couple more times on Stinkin' so it wasn't that bad.
We ate dinner around 10. I was still up at this point. The casino was packed, and it was a constant struggle to get on some machines. Puttering back and forth between various machines I managed to hold my own - especially when Hot Hot Pennies was paying out.
At around 3 O'Clock we headed up, I had about $540 in my pocket. All in all that was a terrific first night.
... After settling into bed, I immediately realized I was far more interested in gambling than sleeping. Back out onto the gambling floor at 4:40am.
I quickly got killed on a bunch of smaller games - $20 here and $20 there adds up. I did cash out on Great Wall and Stinkin', but for a few hours it was absolute murder. Until I ran into my new favorite slot, Lucky Seals.
I was playing a nickel machine, 15 lines, 1credit/line = $0.75/Spin. I moved from one to another following a bonus, and managed to hit for $110, $50, $70.. I probably recouped a total of $180 from the slot.
By 8am I was back over at hot hot pennies and worked $40 up to $14. Got killed from 9-11am, of course....
At around noon I was about even after 24 hours since starting to gamble, with total gamble time around 21-22 hours. My brain was beginning to hurt!
I finished on Lucky Seals at 3pm, turned $40 into $80 and called it a LOOOOONG day.
Finished Stats:
Best Hit: $343.00, Stinkin' Rich
Best Game: Stinkin' Rich + $400
2nd Best Game: Hot Hot Pennies + $300
3rd Best Game: Lucky Seals + $200
Worst Killings: Super Jackpot Party, Wolf Run, Lucky Lemmings (I hate that game >_<!).
Starting Balance: $300
Finishing Balance: $200
Woke Up: 8:00am SAT
Started Gambling: 12pm SAT
Ended Gambling: 3pm SUN
Total Gamble Time: About 24 hours
Current Bodily Status: Exhausted, both mentally and physically. Caught about an hours sleep on the way home, but how comfortale is it being 6'4 in the back of a Monte Carlo...
Besides the obnoxious smoke smell, I really loved Turning Stone. Very friendly people. Having money on a debit card can get annoying, but they have people all over so you can put money on your card. I can't complain losing something like $5 an hour. But man am I exhausted!!!
Good Luck Gamblers!
CK
PS: I saw a man playing some variation of draw poker hit a progressive of $121,000. He was only playing about $5 I believe. Pretty spectacular stuff!
