You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?
I'm writing a column for my college paper, so YKWRGMG? is an extension of that. Comments are ALWAYS welcome.
You know what really grinds my gears? Getting kicked in the nuts by 3Dice casino. Sorry, but that's just about what it felt like.
As many of you have read, I severely reduced my gambling activities - I have limited myself to $50/month for online gaming. It's not alot, I know. But one-night-a-month is better than two-nights-a-week. Definitely helped my budget, plus it makes each experience more exciting. Desensatizing gambling can be seriously, seriously damaging.
I guess this post really stems from something which happened a couple weeks ago. I deposited my $50, got it up to $150. When I asked to cash out $50 with a balance of $80, I was told by a representative they would rather cash out at least $100, stressing it not being "worth the hassle". Naturally, trying to get it up to $100, I bust out. I. Was. Pissed.
Ok, back to the story.
So I deposit $50. Hoping for some half way decent playtime (Enzo says playtime is "bad", I would like to inform him he can shove it, because players like play time... period). Start off at the creepy Slotronomicron (Probably spelled that wrong). Down to $40, hit a bonus... 20 cents on 30 cent bet. Crappy. Off to Payola. No bonus, another 10-20 bucks on 40c spins. Off to Industria. Again, nothing. Bust out after 15 minutes.
What gives? I could have at least gotten a few bonus rounds on an RTG. 1 bonus for .66x bet? That's it? Variance my ass, that just plain out sucks. Come on now. I understand there are bad streaks and good streaks, but 15 minutes for $50 isn't worth my time. I could go see 5 movies for that price.
Uninstalled. Then, had a rep close my account. Felt good. 3Dice has gotten the last of my money. Between the last deposit incident and this one, I'm done feeling like crap.
I went out with my friends last Friday. Here are my costs:
Movie Ticket - $9.50
Soda @ Movies - $7.50 (YIKES.. lol)
Dinner (Split a pizza) - $6.00
Mini golf - $10.00
Rent a movie - $1.00
Total costs - $34.00
So for a great night of laughter and fun, I didn't even spend how much I spent for a 15 minute play at 3Dice. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
I'll be heading to the actual casino next week for a camping @ the casino vacation. Can't wait!
Thanks for reading.

Ok. In my opinion I think we all know what the variance at 3Dice is like, and so anyone who plays there should be aware of this. And I'm sure you know that too. So while we can complain all we like about getting pathetic payouts, it isn't unknown.
Regarding the comments about playtime, I guess that depends on the player. A high roller would surely be hoping to hit big, whereas someone who deposits small amounts is more likely to be wanting playtime and possibly a nice win, which I presume you fall into. However, I think it's a disgrace that support told you they didn't wish to process a withdrawal. Regardless of whether the player has gambling issues, a withdrawal is a withdrawal, and if it was going to cost them then perhaps it would be permitted for the casino to charge for the service. However, this does confuse me, as I thought 3Dice covered $10s worth of fees, so if you deposited just once a month how can you of exceeded this? |

kmay87 - As I said, I chose to bitch and moan in the blog rather in the forums, because I can bitch freely.
![]() And yes, that was exactly what I was told. She didn't want to process a check for less than $100 due to it being "annoying". Well, it cost me $50. |

I think it is a shame you were "discouraged" from cashing out $50. My response would have been to ask to cash out the $80 instead, being closer to $100!!!
If 3Dice wishes to set minimum withdrawals for certain payment methods, that is their choice. But they should be clearly stated. I rarely contact support when making a withdrawal. I just use the automated system and it all seems to go smoothly. Mind you, I usually cash out to an ewallet. I believe that 3Dice uses US Postal Money Orders for payments by "cheques" and I do know that there is a fee involved on their end for this service, plus postage. Glad you had a great night out at the movies! I know that once my health is better more of my entertainment budget will go to activities outside my home. |
