I'm in the middle of Julian Jaynes "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind."

It's roughly a theory on how ancient man (up to about 5000 years ago) had brains split more or less in two. Their consciousness (right side) was an audible "voice" in their heads - as opposed to ours, which is a silent dialogue. Thus they were commanded by the voice of the "gods". And this is why most ancient beliefs/religions include the gods speaking and experiencing visions....

Being Agoraphobic

After reading Babs blog entry about her FMS, I thought maybe I could write about my agoraphobia to help people understand.

In my mid 20's I started feeling funny a few times a week. My body would get hot, I would get sweaty, and I would have this feeling I was going to die, it would last a few minutes or more then it was gone. This continued for a year or so, I just thought that's how I was. Come to find out it was panic attacks.

Fast forward to my late 20's. I stopped...

This original recipe has been part of my repartoire for decades. Back in my single days, my friend Natalie (who could not cook back then) and I lived in the same apartment building. We shared the cost of hosting a brunch every Sunday, and I cooked and she cleaned up. We would invite anyone interesting we met on Friday or Saturday. She met her husband at one...I invited a new guy to the building I met in the laundry room, and he brought his roommate Joe.

Got a bunch for brunch? Want time to relax and enjoy your guests? The answer can be found in a Strata.

Strata is Italian for layers, and if you can make a sandwich and beat an egg, they are a no-brainer.
