Dear Preacher,

I apologize for my tardy response to your most kind note, but it provoked some emotions that I felt needed to be tempered before I did.

There is a matter of great urgency that I must address with you. We had a very serious attempted breach at the gate here in the early morning hours. The intruders were armed and shots were exchanged with the guards on duty. Fortunately, there was no serious injury, but there could have been, and there has been in the past. For this reason, I must request that you discontinue your visits to the gate. It simply isn't safe for you and it puts my crew at a greater level of risk. I'm sure you understand.

I cook Saturday brunch for my crew whenever possible. It would be my pleasure for you and your wife to join me for one in the near future. It will give us the opportunity to talk and get to know some of the other folks living on the property. Dinero will be contacting you to make arrangements in the next day or so. He will also provide an email contact for any future communications with me directly.
