Section Closure.

I notice the "Wild Card" section has been closed, but it also seems to have been removed completely from record as well, which seems far odder

Previoulsy, sections have been closed, but the posts already there have remained for view, but just locked.

Question - Why has this section been totally erased from history?

In terms of detraction from the main purpose of the forum, the same could be said of the jokes section, and indeed the "other complaints" section in so far as complaints are unrelated to online or land gambling issues.

Makes me wonder of something "unpleasant" posted there prompted the decision to both close and wipe the "wild card" section without notice. (It was cetainly working 2 days ago, with no suggestion of planned erasure).

It's not removed - just turned off. I made an announcement about this yesterday and briefly discussed this in yesterday's newsletter as well.

At the moment, it's unavailable - I'm still open for suggestions and can easily compromise and perhaps bring back sections of it in a more controlled moderated way. As it stands now, it became a breeding ground for juvenile behaviour and was becoming extremely counterproductive.

We'll see what next week brings.

Why let a few bad apples spoil the bunch?

I was so happy that the wild card section was open again, then this morning it's gone???

In my opinion, I have found out that any forum needs to have a place where members can just talk. It would get pretty boring if all we could talk about was gambling don't you think?

It will soon spill over into other parts of the forum I believe. People will just start to talk all over the place, it's better to just have a spot, like wild cards.

You shouldn't have to do this. It amazes me that adults were carrying on like they were. It's too bad. Wild Cards can be very productive, right before it was closed Laurie posted something about a toy I had for my toddler and probably saved her life.

My suggestion (you said you were open to suggestions

) would be, have to wild cards open, post the rules and if someone breaks them they can go on vacation.

The joke was circumventing the Wild Cards section closure - you need to just let this go.

The section is closed - get over it.

If I bring a section like this back, it will be in specific topic sections that have useful content - if it comes back. Give me some time to think about this. I am not willing to sacrifice my family time on a Sunday to get involved with this.

I am spending WAY too much time dealing with the issues that have appeared in that section and defending my closure of it. If you have other channels to blow off steam - utilize them. Thank you for your understanding.

exactly! You are spending too much time on this stuff (saying this nicely)

I think that's most of our points. I just don't think you should keep taking your marbles and going home and leaving us with nothing to do when gambling isnt the topic.

I know, it's a gambling forum....but so is my SSD forum, Word Riot forum, Fibromyalgia forum, they are what they say BUT...alll have vent/general/wild card like sections. And yes it gets out of hand and yes sometimes it gets away from the subject at hand...BUT in the end.....people still talk about the subject.

Forums are like buffets....a little of this , a little of that something for everyone, you are taking away the dessert table Bryan, I need my desserts. Ill go back to my main entree when Im in the mood for it
