free sign up Bonus give-away Scheme's are a con because you have to wager a multiple of the amount before you can withdraw by which point you would have lost it all anyway. Some also believe you use your own money before the "Free" sign up bonus so if you think you can try your luck on the casino's money and then get out of town if you lose it your in trouble.
That is because this is the case. Intercasino once had the system whereby you could remove your deposit and play with the bonus money. They ditched this because they were losing to clever players.

Having to wager both your deposit and bonus a certain amount before being able to withdraw anything is not the real "con" - the "con" is where, even if you make this playthrough, some casinos will invent excuses and non-existent rules that you have broken in order to avoid paying. This means you risked your deposit for nothing, you could only lose, or break even (they normally return the deposits of "winners they don't like", and lock their accounts). Casinos listed here under "Accredited" are unlikely to do this, and will only penalise players for an actual breach of the rules.
