I think the idea of delaying it really sucks and Pokeraddict brought up some great points.

More money has to be the motivating factor for this stupid decision. They can hype it up more, sell more stuff, maybe they are even thinking that the can make some money from bets on who the winner(s) will be, also increase their advertising revenue for 4 more months. There are a lot of possiblities here for more revenue.

They already do this to some extent by not broadcasting the live event, so why not milk it for all it's worth, or all they can get out of it.

What else could the primary motive be???

Hopefully it will piss people off enough that it will backfire on them.
