Or, maybe it's just more memorable to hit a big win on the last spin before you're broke? IE: You're going to remember those few instances when it happened more than the other 500+ times it didn't. In other words, for every one player that wins on that last spin for the session, there's hundreds of players using their "last spin" that net either zero, or a very little amount.

That's like me and certain songs from the 1980's that I loved. I can remember almost every word to those songs, but can't remember hardly any other songs from that era that I didn't like, even though I've probably heard them dozens (if not hundreds) of times.
